Entry tags:
[meme] Test Drive
Tag into this post with characters you're thinking of apping to the game (characters who are not currently in-game or currently reserved by someone else). It can be just a tag, a brief EP, a blurb about the character, a line of dialogue, or whatever you want. You can be new to the game, or simply want to test out a fresh pup. Tag each other with these characters or those already in game, and have fun.
Also, please include the name of their canon somewhere in or on the comment or on their profile page.

Sorry, no. I'm here from 1973.
Wow, something got mangled there. I'm sorry about that!

You are, yes. Very much so.
I'm not sure how much you know, so I may be telling you things you don't need to hear, but the short of it is there was an altercation. Eric murdered Sebastian Shaw, but took up his calling, wanting to kill all humans who threaten mutants. There was a division, Raven sided with him. I was critically injured during the fight, having my spinal cord irreversibly damaged at the T11 vertebrae.
We started the school, you and I, despite losing Raven and Eric. But the war in Vietnam got worse and the US instated a draft lottery in 1970. We lost many of our teachers and several of our students to the draft, and there wasn't enough left to carry on. You had developed a serum for yourself, to control your mutation, and you modified it to temporarily restore the neural pathways in my spine so I can walk.

A serum that contains my mutation and restores neural pathways? What were the side effects? What are the side effects? How did - my mutation is controlled.
But Raven is here. I'm sorry, professor, this is a bit much to take in in one go. We could go find her, see what she knows. There is clearly, this is clearly some place outside time, I think. It's too soon to be sure, but that's why I brought material for research. Your T11 vertebrae?
Who would attack you from behind?

For you, there aren’t any side effects of which I’m aware. The dosage you take allows you to decide when your mutation is exhibited (to an extent – I believe it can sometimes still be triggered by intense emotion).
For me, losing my mutation entirely is the side effect. When I’m taking the serum I can walk and feel my legs, but I no longer have telepathy.
I’ve seen Raven, or spoken to her. I believe you’re correct about this place being out of sync with our timeline. Has your research discovered anything concrete?
My injury was caused by a deflected bullet. I’m sure you have an idea of who might be able to do such a thing as causing a metal projectile to change its course.

*rubs his face* This is - You sacrificed your - I somehow thought things would be clearer with you around. No offense, professor, but usually you're the one that knows what's going on. That means your powers are completely gone, right now? Not a thing? Because telepathy would be helpful, more than a pair of monster f-
This is an USA of the future. 2016. But not necessarily ours, it seems to be a passive surroundings with an active gathering of all kind of people. From other times, from other worlds, from other dimensions. No-one has yet been able to tell me how or why.
no subject
Yes.
For the moment, that’s correct. Though I don’t have any of the serum with me here, so it will wear off in the next twelve hours or so, and my powers will return. If we’re still here by that time.
Interesting. I wonder why we’ve each been brought here, what our presence is meant to accomplish. Inter-dimensional travel is extremely complex; the power that would be needed to manage such a thing would have to be extraordinary. And that’s only based on theories, not practical application.

You'll be back before then. I think. In my experience, it's never more than a few hours, and I have been here twice. I don't want to know what I'm doing to the space time continuum, how much energy is needed to just have living beings hop around through it. If it's a hopping movement.
I don't know if we're here for any kind of reason, Charles. I heard mention of an afterlife, but I can't personally and scientifically support that idea.

You thought it through. And you offered it to me when I’d come to a place where I couldn’t see any point in continuing, not with the school nor anything else. I rely on you, Hank. You did it in an effort to help me heal, and I appreciated the gesture very much.
Twice? Maybe we’re only phasing in and out of this place, possibly because of a naturally occurring phenomenon. But I agree with you; I don’t believe we’re passed on.
no subject
It doesn't only happen to mutants, the phasing. I can't call it anything else but random, for now. The people that are brought here, the people that are kept here versus those that can leave ..and we can remember these visits, at least I can.
no subject
Well, we were. But there’s only so much that can be done. People’s minds are difficult to change without resorting to violence. And you and I, mutant or not, are still only human.
Maybe it’s a tear in the fabric of space time, created by a mutant? Or some kind of scientific experiment?
no subject
Yes, that could be it. But for this to have been going on for years and years, that means an energy outside any of our imaginations. Planets would have to die for that, unless those few decades were spaces for significant scientific discoveries. How is space travel in 1973?
no subject
I know, I know, Hank. And I don’t think it’s right, but sometimes… I won’t do that. But I’m too tired to keep fighting the good fight, Hank.
It’s not much more advanced than space travel in 1962. They did successfully put men on the moon, but that’s the extent of our reach. Could the power, the experiment, be extraterrestrial?
no subject
Just remember that you're never alone fighting it, prof- Charles. That's all- I can't do much about your tiredness right now, definitely not here. But if or when you return to where we should be, please remember that?
no subject
Honestly, it’s been so long since I’ve used my powers it would be so overwhelming I doubt it would do much good anyway, even if I had them. And nothing to refine them either, without Cerebro.
If I can remember it, Hank, if this place allows me to, then I’ll keep that in mind.
