[meme] reverse questions
Muns: Post here listing all of the characters you play (you might want to list journals, too, just for reference) or are thinking of playing.
Everyone: Ask the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR PUPS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this pup?", "How do you channel them?", etc.) You can even have pups ask the questions, but ANSWERS are coming from the MUNS.

So Laine and I have talked about this length, obviously, since Cathy's and Jamie's respective careers are so key to their relationship, such as it is, and we've decided the best thing to do at first is flip things on their head, so that Cathy can maybe find a nice theater role and Jamie is stuck facing down a blank page literally and metaphorically. Let her have a little success, let him work.
Of course, the trouble here is that it isn't really about their careers
IS IT CATHYbecause Cathy is someone who needs validation in success and Jamie, frankly, isn't. He's confident enough that, even though he'll miss the money and the parties and the success, he's going to be fine. He'll work on a new novel, he'll chug along while Cathy's doing her show, he'll be great. That's just Jamie. He knows what he wants from life and he knows he can do it, and now he's got four years of great sales to back that up. Whether they'll still falter through this, with Cathy coming from the very end and being Cathy and Jamie being Jamie, or not, I don't know yet? LET'S SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR THEM TO FALL APART!! Or maybe they won't! I genuinely believe that there were red flags literally from day one and that they are fundamentally the wrong kind of people for each other no matter how truly in love they were, but maybe Jamie being forced to take the backseat while Cathy shines will give them the time they need to work on some things. Maybe a taste of success will be enough for Cathy to put a little more trust in Jamie. But theater is a business where you have to pay your dues, and Cathy isn't going to keep getting roles from the jump, whereas Jamie will finish his book and Jamie is Jamie, so it's sure as hell gonna sell. I may even give him Light Out of Darkness as an item, since it really is a big fucking thing for him, obviously, and he is not above copying it down and submitting it for publication, since it is his. Then boom, instant success while he works on his other stories. And then we're back at the start-slash-end and what becomes of them then?
Also also also I mentioned wanting at some point to do a thread with Jamie writing Cathy a story for the millionth time. I'm thinking that, at some point, he might compile those short fables and publish those. Obviously at first this is super-flattering for Cathy, always the muse, but if/when things turn sour, she's not going to see it in such a favorable light anymore.

But that reminds me of the other thing I was wondering! Cathy from the very end, then, so Jamie is from- oh wait, you said four years of success, so that's... not the very end, then, a little earlier?

to mess things up in whole new waysno subject
and with new people
and in a place where they cannot really avoid each other for long
and where Cathy never has to leave the state for work
