meme: personality test
HAPPY WEEKEND! HAVE A MEME. :D
One of the personality tests taken widely today is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. According to Wikipedia:
When you figure out each one of the 'letters' appropriate for a person, you then put them together to get a type! For example, I'm introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging, therefore I'm INTJ.
The meme is simple: Tag in with your characters and share their MBTI type! You can either go with the principle of the four dichotomies above, or you can take a typology test from the perspective of your character if you're unsure.
Add even more fun by looking up descriptions of their type and sharing with everyone the most hilariously accurate (or perhaps inaccurate) parts of the article. You can even search online for compatibility between two characters' types, both platonic and romantic.
Really, there are no strict guidelines — just have fun!
bonus: because lys and di like data, we'll be doing a type tally at the very end. :D
One of the personality tests taken widely today is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. According to Wikipedia:
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. Here's how it works on a basic level. There are four dichotomies in personalities that, when combined, result in sixteen different possible types. The four preferences are:
- Attitudes: extraversion/introversion
Does a person generally draw energy from action and interacting with people (extraversion) or from ideas and reflecting alone (introversion)? - Functions: sensing/intuition
Does a person tend to trust information that's in the present, detailed, and tangible (sensing), or information that's more theoretical, draws upon principle, and looks towards the future (intuition)? - Functions: thinking/feeling
Does a person make decisions based on a detached perspective grounded in logic (thinking), or by empathizing with the situation and looking at it from the inside (feeling)? - Lifestyle: judging/perception
Does a person prefer to live a life where matters are mostly settled (judging) or prefer a life which is flexible and have decisions be open (perception)?

Spock - INTJ
because of reasons
"The INTJ sees life as a problem to be solved. For that reason, the INTJ is the person a company brings in from the outside to streamline production processes and identify redundant assets for termination. The INTJ's combination of analyticial problem-solving skills and complete and utter disregard for the morality or consequences of his actions also make him ideal for the job of hatchet man, CIA operative, and helpdesk operator."

IT'S A GOOD THING SPOCK LIKES RUKIA.

Greg House - INTJ
but
prefers to give the impression of an ENTP
"ENTPs are creative, complex people who seek to improve their understanding of the natural world, usually by building armored fifty-story-tall robotic monsters with iron jaws and death-ray eyes, or by creating genetically mutated plagues that spread unstoppably across the land, turning all who are contaminated into mindless zombie drones. They are less likely to want to conquer the world than to destroy it utterly, reducing it to nothing but slag and rubble--though this is often merely a side-effect of their pursuit of knowledge."

.............................yeah okay.
Robin Goodfellow - ESTP
"This generally expresses itself as an overwhelming urge to prove your self worth (and fatten your wallet) by taking advantage of the suckers, marks, and dupes who surround you--after all, isn't that what they're there for? It's not your fault that their stupidity and gullibility lets them believe you when you say that Hershey's Kissesses exposed to your patented psychic amplifier rays will let them fly! As your hero and fellow ESTP, P. T. Barnum, once said, "it is morally wrong to let a sucker keep his money.""
Kurt Hummel: INFJ
Some of the stuff from Personality Page that I think suits him:
Kurt's painstakingly attentive when it comes to the people he loves, and tends to be most receptive when people are able to recognize that in him. But he definitely avoids conflict whenever possible. Even in cases where he could have easily gotten his various nemesis in trouble (even rightfully), Kurt tends to shy back and instead nudge people towards becoming more moral and seeing the error of their ways (see: with Sebastian, Karofsky, etc.).
Though he's quite a talented singer and not too bad of a dancer, Kurt still ends up nitpicking at himself when he's around people he really respects in the craft. He's competitive, but also more modest than anything; any airs he puts on are more often a shield than true belief.
Mmmmmmmmhmmmmmm~~~

This was what I pinned him as initially, through when I ran him through the test, he ended up as an ENFJ, with only the slimmest margins separating E/I and P/J. He's definitely a close split on the latter, but I see him pretty firmly as an introvert, just one who's perfectly capable of being outgoing when it suits him.
Also, You find it difficult to speak loudly, let's be real here.

Okumura Rin - ESFP
"The strongest element of the psychological makeup of an ESFP is his easygoing, impulsive approach to life. ESFPs often build their careers out of dating supermodels, being involved in scandals, and appearing regularly in such newspapers as "The National Enquirer" and "The Weekly World News.""
no subject
Not a perfect fit, but probably the best, I think.
P. sure this:
Rules and laws are seen as guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. If the ESTP has decided that something needs to be done, then their "do it and get on with it" attitude takes precendence over the rules. However, the ESTP tends to have their own strong belief in what's right and what's wrong, and will doggedly stick to their principles. The Rules of the Establishment may hold little value to the ESTP, but their own integrity mandates that they will not under any circumstances do something which they feel to be wrong.
could have been taken verbatim from my app for the dude.
ESTPs have a strong flair for drama and style. They're fast-moving, fast-talking people who have an appreciation for the finer things in life.
Boosh.
Kuchiki Rukia: INFP
Some accurate tidbits:
no subject
Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible, and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it.
Yeah, that's Cas, life of the party

Robert Chase: ENFP
Nice tidbits:
Can you say magical mary sue doctor? Diagnostics, surgery, pediatrics, hypnosis, I don't understand how he does all these things but he's the go-to person on the show for some unusual trade.
Early Chase, early Chase.
Sadly, 'whatever it takes' is sometimes too much for the other person. N'aww, Chase. Someone will come along who loves your romantic nature.

Abby: ISFP
ISFPs are extremely perceptive and aware of others. They constantly gather specific information about people, and seek to discover what it means. They are usually penetratingly accurate in their perceptions of others.
The ISFP is likely to not give themself enough credit for the things which they do extremely well. Their strong value systems can lead them to be intensely perfectionist, and cause them to judge themselves with unneccesary harshness.
ISFPs are able to get along with most of the other personality types, although they tend to be reserved around those they don't know well. They will enjoy spending time with others who share their interests, and who understand and accept the ISFP for who they are. They greatly value their space and autonomy, and appreciate other's respect for that.
The ISFP is not likely to have much patience or tolerance for those who are strongly Judging. ISFPs celebrate their own uniqueness, as well as everybody else's, and don't appreciate being judged harshly for their differences.
Letty - ISFP
ISFPs have no desire to lead or control others, just as they have no desire to be led or controlled by others. They need space and time alone to evaluate the circumstances of their life against their value system, and are likely to respect other people's needs for the same.
LOL
Babs - INTJ
...duh.
Korra: ESFP
It gets interesting though, because she's been deliberately secluded in the south pole away from all other people her age for well over three quarters of her life, so her ability to get people is a little behind. Some things that still hold accurate to type, though:
Faye Valentine: ENTJ
And here are the highlights:
Claudia Donovan - ENFP
Nuriko: ESFP
Interestingly, her strong points are different than Korra's, even though I typed them the same:
Damon - ESTP
Friendly, adaptable, action-oriented. "Doers" who are focused on immediate results. Living in the here-and-now, they're risk-takers who live fast-paced lifestyles. Impatient with long explanations. Extremely loyal to their peers, but not usually respectful of laws and rules if they get in the way of getting things done. Great people skills.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Cassandra Cain- ISTJ
Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible, and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it.
Yes, this is exactly like Cass "I am not going to get shot by my father, so I am going to become inhumanly fast so he does not hit me with bullets"
I also like the fact its one away from Babs
Kate - ESFP
Ha ha, yes, because often Kate's version of advice is 'you're a fucking idiot, get over it'. >.>
"They are upbeat and enthusiastic, and genuinely like almost everybody. An ESFP is unfailingly warm and generous with their friends, and they generally treat everyone as a friend. However, once crossed, an ESFP is likely to make a very strong and stubborn judgment against the person who crossed them. They are capable of deep dislike in such a situation."
YEP.
"They like to "go with the flow", trusting in their ability to improvise in any situation presented to them. They learn best with "hands-on" experience, rather than by studying a book. They're uncomfortable with theory. If an ESFP hasn't developed their intuitive side, they may tend to avoid situations which involve a lot of theoretical thinking, or which are complex and ambiguous. For this reason, an ESFP may have difficulty in school."
It doesn't all fit her (the description keeps referring to being a great team player, which isn't exactly something she's good at) but it fits her better than other other.
Andrea - ENFJ
"This can be difficult for some ENFJs, because they have the tendency to be hard on themselves and turn to dark thoughts when alone. Consequently, ENFJs might avoid being alone, and fill their lives with activities involving other people. ENFJs tend to define their life's direction and priorities according to other people's needs, and may not be aware of their own needs. It's natural to their personality type that they will tend to place other people's needs above their own, but they need to stay aware of their own needs so that they don't sacrifice themselves in their drive to help others."
"ENFJs do not like dealing with impersonal reasoning. They don't understand or appreciate its merit, and will be unhappy in situations where they're forced to deal with logic and facts without any connection to a human element. Living in the world of people possibilities, they enjoy their plans more than their achievements. They get excited about possibilities for the future, but may become easily bored and restless with the present."
This strikes me especially in canon, when Rick wants to plan things that are 'for the best' and Andrea can't really see how it is, but DOES IT ANYWAY, BECAUSE RICK SAYS SO AND SHE WANTS TO MAKE STUPID RICK HAPPY.
"ENFJs have a strong need for close, intimate relationships, and will put forth a lot of effort in creating and maintaining these relationships. They're very loyal and trustworthy once involved in a relationship."

Maggie Beauford - ISFJ
Elena Gilbert - ENFJ
Alexander Molokov - ESTJ
AHAHAHAHAHA. I mean. Ahem.
"Good citizens" who value security and peaceful living.
Sure. Of course. Absolutely. >_>
They honor traditions and laws, and have a clear set of standards and beliefs. They expect the same of others, and have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not value these systems. They value competence and efficiency, and like to see quick results for their efforts.
But this is Molokov absolutely, particularly with the no patience or understanding of people who don't share his values.
Cissie King-Jones - ENFJ
Popular and sensitive, with outstanding people skills. Externally focused, with real concern for how others think and feel. Usually dislike being alone. They see everything from the human angle, and dislike impersonal analysis. Very effective at managing people issues, and leading group discussions. Interested in serving others, and probably place the needs of others over their own needs.
BINGO.
Lily - ENTP
"This ability to intuitively understand people and situations puts the ENTP at a distinct advantage in their lives. They generally understand things quickly and with great depth. Accordingly, they are quite flexible and adapt well to a wide range of tasks."
"The least developed area for the ENTP is the Sensing-Feeling arena. If the Sensing areas are neglected, the ENTP may tend to not take care of details in their life. If the Feeling part of themself is neglected, the ENTP may not value other people's input enough, or may become overly harsh and aggressive."

WHY CAN I HEAR THAT SO WELL?

Re: Lily - ENTP
Ilithyia - ESTP
"Enthusiastic and excitable, ESTPs are "doers" who live in the world of action. Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing."
And sometimes, doing exactly this leads to starting an entire slave rebellion.
"They're typically a couple of steps ahead of the person they're interacting with. ESTPs use this ability to get what they want out of a situation. The Rules of the Establishment may hold little value to the ESTP, but their own integrity mandates that they will not under any circumstances do something which they feel to be wrong."
Good thing she doesn't think murder is wrong! :D
"ESTPs have a strong flair for drama and style. They're fast-moving, fast-talking people who have an appreciation for the finer things in life. They may be gamblers or spendthrifts. They're usually very good at story telling and improvising. They typically makes things up as they go along, rather than following a plan. They love to have fun, and are fun people to be around. They can sometimes be hurtful to others without being aware of it, as they generally do not know and may not care about the effect their words have on others. It's not that they don't care about people, it's that their decision-making process does not involve taking people's feelings into account. They make decisions based on facts and logic."
These common dishes leave my stomach unsettled. SO NICE TO YOUR HOSTS, ILITHYIA.
"ESTPs have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They get very excited about things, and have the ability to motivate others to excitement and action. The can sell anyone on any idea. They are action-oriented, and make decisions quickly."

Russell - ISFJ
"ISFJs have a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. They constantly take in information about people and situations that is personally important to them, and store it away. This tremendous store of information is usually startlingly accurate, because the ISFJ has an exceptional memory about things that are important to their value systems."
"ISFJs have a very clear idea of the way things should be, which they strive to attain. They value security and kindness, and respect traditions and laws. They tend to believe that existing systems are there because they work. Therefore, they're not likely to buy into doing things in a new way, unless they're shown in a concrete way why its better than the established method."
"ISFJs learn best by doing, rather than by reading about something in a book, or applying theory. For this reason, they are not likely to be found in fields which require a lot of conceptual analysis or theory. They value practical application. Traditional methods of higher education, which require a lot of theorizing and abstraction, are likely to be a chore for the ISFJ. The ISFJ learns a task best by being shown its practical application. Once the task is learned, and its practical importance is understood, the ISFJ will faithfully and tirelessly carry through the task to completion. The ISFJ is extremely dependable."
"More so than other types, ISFJs are extremely aware of their own internal feelings, as well as other people's feelings. They do not usually express their own feelings, keeping things inside. If they are negative feelings, they may build up inside the ISFJ until they turn into firm judgments against individuals which are difficult to unseed, once set."
"The ISFJ feels a strong sense of responsibility and duty. They take their responsibilities very seriously, and can be counted on to follow through. For this reason, people naturally tend to rely on them. The ISFJ has a difficult time saying "no" when asked to do something, and may become over-burdened."
James Ford: ENTJ
Accurate bits:
Cole McGrath - ISTP
Quiet and reserved (check), interested in how and why things work. Excellent skills with mechanical things (uncheck. That's Zeke). Risk-takers who they live for the moment (check). Usually interested in and talented at extreme sports (check). Uncomplicated in their desires (check). Loyal to their peers and to their internal value systems, but not overly concerned with respecting laws and rules if they get in the way of getting something done (check and check). Detached and analytical, they excel at finding solutions to practical problems (. . . not so much check XD That's also Zeke for Cole).
omg so fun >D
