Eleven steps out of the mall with Max, an ice cream in her hand, and onto a street that isn't in Hawkins. She stops abruptly.

"Max," she says. When there's no answer, she turns to look; Max isn't there. She frowns. "Max?" When she looks behind her, the mall isn't there, either. It's a small bookstore, right on the sidewalk.

She tenses, breath starting to come quicker. This isn't Hawkins. This isn't where she's supposed to be.

"Mike? Mike!"

Hopper knows that voice. It's one he hasn't heard in years now, but at the sound of Eleven calling for Mike -- of course it's Mike -- Hopper turns and without a thought, begins to run.

"El!" he calls when he sees her. He stops abruptly, stunned by the sight of her. Her hair is longer than he'd seen her last and she looks taller, too.
