Yes, I am very much out of time, as it were. I'm from a small village in France from long ago. I think three hundred years ago, if I'm remembering right.

You must be from these modern times?

Good old 2016. From America, a place called Metropolis which.. is as big as it sounds, I guess.

How are you doing with adjusting? That must be hard to do with all this weirdness and then the time gap.

That is what I'm hoping. I got a good start so far but it's only one story that I have under my belt.

I read, mostly. I'm trying to find work so that I can help pay for boarding my horse.

It's better than nothing! And I've got a good job working under one of the most prestigious journalists in Metropolis, so I'm hopeful.

If you read a lot, maybe you could be an editor somewhere. You'd have to keep an eye out for grammar and phrasing, that kind of stuff. You'd probably be great at it.

An editor? I've never thought of that before. It sounds like a dream for me, really. I'll have to look into it.

Do. There's got to be a newspaper here, right? If not, people still publish books. Or maybe you could write your own book reviews.

Did you get a phone? It's kind of like that. Information that you can't see put through the air. And so it's not a physical newspaper but something you can access through a computer. Much cheaper than a physical newspaper.
