Your pup has just ingested a large quantity of veritaserum, or "truth potion." Any questions asked of them they have to answer truthfully, whether they want to or not! There's absolutely no way around it.

Do you miss the glory of the arena, and the simple kill-or-be-killed that it boils down to?

Yes. The burden of conscience and choice are equally removed. I don't care - never cared - for the glory beyond its ability to get me wine and distraction. There was relief in thinking every day I might die. Disappointment when I did not.

I have found some measure of peace here. Freedom is no longer the burden it once was.
