MEME: Love Meme

With Valentine's coming up, I wanted to post a variation on the kudos meme.

Tag in your pups and then anonymously (or not, if you prefer) leave messages for each other, listing a favorite detail (or two) of how they play their characters. That can be anything from personality traits you love watching to specific plotlines and relationships to whatever you think deserves a little love!

I really appreciate and love how you've never shied away from addressing the super dark aspects of Harley's canon. It would be an easy thing to play down or minimize, but you never do, you tackle it with the dedication it deserves.

I love how you play Olive. I can always hear her voice when I read your tags; you truly capture her sense of humor and the unique way she looks at the world. Also, her and Eduardo are so sweet together and I love that Phoenix Records is so much theirs? I can't wait to see what the future holds for Olive.

Molly's been through so much and you've done so much with her and have been completely dedicated to realistically working through all the challenges she's faced. Even when there's a difficult subject, you take it on with total honesty and I just love reading all her threads.

Eduardo Saverin

This jerk. So, in particular, I love that you've let Eduardo just be successful, with his wife and his business. His canon's all drama and backstabbing, but the whole point is that Eduardo is above that, really. He's competent and loyal and honest, and that basically got him eaten alive. Here, you've given him the chance to be quietly awesome.

Elsa is such an important character to me and you play her perfectly. You really draw out all the aspects of her character that make her who she is and flush them out even further in Darrow. I love that she now fights crime! That is just brilliant. Also, I love her and Jessica together; they're so lovely.

Lucy's loyalty. She would do anything for anyone, even when she's quietly hanging on by a thread. You capture that perfectly.

I also like that she's helped Tommy settle, and that she's made him happier than he's ever been, I GUESS.

Jack Vincent

Even though I haven't read his canon yet, everything you've done with Jack is so full of life and verve and attention to detail. I love reading all of his interactions with everyone. I love those moments when he's so full of doubt. I love him and Jillie, and him and Poison, and him and Kavinsky. I love the life he's got going for him here. All of it is wonderful.

I really love tagging with Jenny, even though I don't do it enough. She always feels so real, like you want her to be real because she'd be so fun to hang out with. You always make it so easy to play off of her and I love the direction you've taken the character. She is always so distinct and so consistent as well, it's amazing!

Newt Kavinsky

We are both constantly in awe of Newt and Kav, and I don't think I'm ever going to stop being in awe of the fact that this boy, smart and sarcastic and pithy and so, so caring, managed to draw Kavinsky out of so much of his internalized and externalized hatred. I adore Newt: his voice is so real and present for me, every time you have him out and about, and it constantly makes me an emotional wreck. I have legitimately cried so many times in so many of our more emotional threads because the presence of Newt's feelings are so real and true.

Cameron Winklevoss

I never really considered or thought about Cameron outside of the Social Network until I started threading with him here. It is so clear how much you care about him and it shows through your tags. I love getting to see him come to life here in Darrow, away from the events of the Social Network, and develop into a well-rounded, kind man. I am so grateful for his friendship with Marius, and Cameron's relationship with Jenny is so sweet.

Gweeeeen. She is one of my favorites and I miss playing off of her more. Gwen is such a strong character and I love seeing you play her that way while keeping her real. She feels like someone I could run into in real life and still be completely in awe of, she doesn't feel like she only makes sense in the realm of fiction.

I'm really enjoying the thread he and Alec are having right now! There's not much talking and when there is, it's not deep and intense but it's exactly what Alec needed and Elvis was the perfect one to tag against him. I love the slow, winding way the thread's going, that they're both content to stand and be quiet but can have a conversation if they both want to talk.

You've given me such interesting and different friendships now, but he and Lily will always be one of my favourites. They had a real connection and it was wonderful getting to thread that with you.

I have loved threading with Grace so far! I'm so, so glad I threw Raven at her because it's been such a fun thread. I really want them to be friends and she seems like such a well thought out, clear voice, I'm really excited to see what she gets up to in Darrow.

You started playing Kaz before I read either of these books, and the instant that I did, that I got to his first introduction, that I looked at Kaz, softened by Darrow, next to Kaz, hardened by Ketterdam, I was absolutely in love. You have such dedication to every pup, to every voice you play, and Kaz has so much nuance and breadth. His evolution into this boy who can still be Dirtyhands when he needs to be has been so brilliant and I can't get enough.

Plus, now I get to play someone who snuggles with him a ton, and I love that too.

I was nervous about throwing Alec her way since I wasn't really sure how it would turn out but I was so glad to be surprised! He's charmed by her (though not expect him to admit that) and intrigued and he could see why Magnus would want to kiss her because she's very magnetic and very interesting to talk to. There's nothing Alec likes more than learning and he thinks he could learn some interesting mundane things from her.

I love reading and watching the iterations and various plots that you've given to her in order to keep her fresh even though this is a character you've played for many years. I think it speaks to a really great creativity and devotion to the character!

SAAAAAAAAAAAAM. Ugh. You know my feelings, because they're all your fault, but YEAH I love the way you play him. He has grown and developed so much from where he started, and you've done a really excellent job of showing that growth without ever losing that sense of who he was. Even though his circumstances are completely different, he's still recognizably himself.

Also, he and Greta are going to be THE BEST and I'm 500% here for it.

Another charming one! I'd never really been able to tag against her until just recently and I'm glad schedules and such lined up that I was around to toss Dutch at her. Dutch needs more friends, especially women, and she already thinks Eden's adorable and wants to hear more about her play and her acting and all that goes into that since it's a foreign concept to Dutch.

Edith, lord, I haven't come up with a reason to tag her, but I want to because I love her so much. There's something in tone that you write her with that's pitch-perfect with what's from the movie. I love reading it, even if it is her just trying to navigate the stairs to the laundry room. :)
