[Daine flashes a grateful smile, then sidles a bit closer to Toothless, stretching out a hand slowly, giving him plenty of room to come forward and meet her.]

Toothless is a fine name for such a handsome fellow as you. [She keeps her voice low and even, and ventures to send the dragon a little thread of reassurance.] My dragon's name is Kitten, but I don't think she's here. I'm Daine. [She glances up at the boy. The introduction is meant for him, too.]

He's not actually toothless, but they are retractable. Makes it easier to breathe fire, I think.

He really breathes it? The dragons I've met use magic to throw fire from their paws.

If Kitten was here, I'd introduce you. She does like to be admired. She's only a baby, though. The fully-grown dragons have probably written scrolls about themselves.
