Given that it is now mid-year and that many of us seem to have been having a rough time of it lately, now seems like an excellent time for a kudos meme. Tag in character, as yourself, or even anonymously if you prefer! Just spread the love, y'all. ♥

It has been absolutely DELIGHTFUL watching how she's shaped to her surroundings, taking on all these responsibilities and growing and filling out her place in Darrow. I love the various dynamics that she has with all the people she encounters, and how you handle all these levels of love and relationship that she experiences. I! love! that she and Kavinsky can even have a momentary civil conversation (which they should probably do again at some point, since they haven't talked since Fight Club, which was not even really talking). I love that Krem has basically adopted her as his little sister.
I LOVE THAT HENRY CHENG CONSISTENTLY THINKS OF HER AS SOME SORT OF GODDESS WOW HE CAN'T HANDLE YOU BLUE SARGENT YOU MUST BE STOPPED YOU'RE TOO MUCH.

She is just SO great, though. I don't know her canon, but there's still such a distinct voice in each and every one of her tags that makes her wonderful to read. And yessss, I would definitely love to thread her and Beth together given their current situations. I actually have a private EP up in Beth's journal for August if you wanted to tag her there!

It's been like 6 tags and I live and breathe this girl. What I think is most interesting about Blue is how she chooses to deal with the way she feels. I feel like I've seen some interpretations of her where she's just... angry. And that's not Blue. YOUR Blue is Blue. She's dynamic and fierce and adoring, and so, so fucking good. I cannot believe how perfectly you play her.
And Faye, you're the fucking tits. Things began so odd that I wasn't sure if it would be weird when/if I got to play Gansey. You were so patient and communicative. You've proven yourself to be a person I can talk to about anything, and your empathy and support and open-mindedness is invaluable to me. I love you, you beautiful soul. I hope to get to prove it in snuggles one day.

And then you brought Blue in, and my god, she's wonderful.
I think what strikes me the most about the way you write Blue, not having read the actual canon, is the fact that she's got all these emotions and thoughts constantly churning about these complicated relationships she's built up. I don't know how she contains them all in one person! But she does, and you write her in such a way where the reader is really taken into the experience and goes on the journey with her. Sometimes you work in these little tactile details, little things that evoke a whole lot of emotion, in a way that very much mirrors what happens in real life. What we experience isn't always something that fits in a paragraph of prose, sometimes it's a texture, a brush, a touch, a scent, a feeling. And you manage to convey that extraordinarily well.

HA, I just had this conversation with someone about TRC. (It may have been more of a restraining myself from a spiky defense of Blue being an important character.) I do hope you give it a chance, because there are some wonderful women (not just Blue) in the book, even if it isn't necessarily about women more than men. And because that writing style and character development that hopefully I'm doing justice to is absolutely wonderfully brought to life by Maggie Stiefvater.
BUT.
Having not read it, and because I know I don't write exactly like Maggie Stief, this is just such a brilliant, relieving thing to hear. Just one of the best compliments I could receive, because that's EXACTLY what I hope to do with Blue and with my writing in general, and I am elated that that's what you get. Thank you so much <333

Like. Just thinking about it now gets me all teary. I feel like it was THAT point where Ronan really started to get his shit together (with some definite falling back here and there along the way, of course) and it's all because of Blue and that... idk, that feels RIGHT to me somehow. I'm just so glad it happened.
Ugh, anyway. I just really like Blue and I hope we can thread them again soon because Ronan really actually sort of likes her now and wants to keep her around and junk.
