Luke loves his Shadowhunter stepson and so do I. ;____; idk, man, our threads just never fail to give me a whole lot of feelings, because you get Alec SO WELL. It would be easy to take a character like him and push him out of that tendency to keep things bottled up, but you've managed to find this really amazing balance between all the things he wants to say and all the things he feels in his narrative and what actually comes out. And the times he does let someone in just a little more kill me with feelings.

I sort of love that I got to antagonize poor Alec twice in a week or so via two very different pups. I'M SORRY ALEC YOU'RE JUST SO PRETTY WHEN YOU'RE IRRITATED.

Honestly though, this kid is so fascinating and so wonderful and I'm delighted he's around. I love that you don't shy away from my pups poking at him in their own ways and I appreciate how genuine and honest Alec's reactions always are. He's fantastic and I'm so excited to bug him even MORE. :D

This character is a calamity of a mess in fandom. Like, even in the books. And remember old man Zegers? Whoo. What a life.

But your Alec, to me, is THE Alec. You emulate Daddario's version so very fucking well in cadence and physicality. More than that, you don't stop at the shoulder-squared Shadowhunter thing. In Darrow, you've worked to explore his humanity and test his boundaries and that is just good storytelling.

Peter loves his Shadowhunter. Let's get them drunk so they can hug XD

And you. Trace, you're a fucking national treasure. I appreciate your patience and flexibility, your sense of humor and how generous you are as a writing partner and as a person. Anytime you want to shoot the shit, I'm here. You're fucking amazing. <3

Even though I'm not familiar with Alec's canon, you write him in such a full and complete way that I feel like I've known this character for years. There's something really effortless about the way that you write his demeanor into each tag, like I can physically picture his posture, I can feel the sort of energy that only the most watchful would be able to pick up. I haven't even heard the actor's voice, yet I feel like there's this clear voice that always plays whenever I read Alec's dialogue, and that really speaks to the consistency and thoroughness with which you've treated this character. I don't even have to dive into his canon for him to feel like a person to me, a person that I can empathize with and a person I want to get to know better. You're amazing at weaving the context behind his thoughts and actions into your tags without weighing them down, and now I just can't stop wanting to thread with him, you've got me hooked.

I've never threaded with Alec, and it's entirely possible that mine just run in different circles, but he's one of those characters I really enjoy just being around in the same world and always want to read more. I think you do a great job of getting across his personality in little ways, and the way he's changing and growing, and it's cool to watch.

Also I mean, Alec and Magnus. Who wouldn't want to read it.

Alec and Billy's friendship is one of my favorite in the game, largely due to how well you play him. I love all the ways you've used the setting of Darrow to really grow Alec while keeping him true to character. Having to deal with not being around his support structure and then having them gradually filter in to Darrow has been cool to watch. He doesn't talk very much but you give us such a fantastic look at his mind and thought process in his tags that how little he often says doesn't detract from letting us fall in love with the character.

Look lbr Alec's entire canon is a fucking mess, whether we're talking about the books or the show. But out of the trash heap you have taken all the pieces of Alec and made even more and come up with this perfectly well rounded character that I adore. There's always a risk with these pups of them being too one dimensional because CC falls into that trap way too often but your Alec is always spot on, and he's is Alec for me. The balance of the dialogue and his narrative in his tags is perfect, and I love the relationship that he has with Izzy so much. I'm so glad that we get to play them together and I couldn't have asked for a better brother <3

It's obvious how much you love Alec, and how much you seem to really understand him. You write him so fantastically, and I love every thread I've had with him. He's definitely Jack's best friend in the city (aside from Bitty of course), and I just adore their relationship.

And Rapunzel is determined to soften him up and make him like her!!
