I've only had two threads with Henry so far but I'd love to have more in the future because he's hella entertaining and incredibly true to his canon. His voice is unique and sharp and his threads are fun to read.

NERD BROS?

It is so so much fun to watch Henry fit into the TRC gang, nanny Tony Stark, and make his way through Darrow as an ambitious, intelligent young man with a lot of prospects, some sass, and a lot of charm. I shamelessly will be stalking him in the future and probably be demanding all sorts of nerdy college stuff for him and Carson so they'll have an excuse to thread more, kthnx.

Hello you perfect cinnamon roll. Nuance. God, so much of Henry Cheng's narration is steeped in nuance, his first language of thought and ideas rather than words and you're so careful with that and I love how he and Adam circle each other with this game of niceties, sort of pushing and inching towards being friends.

Okay, can I just say that Henry is wonderful? That's far from only Jessica's opinion, it's also 100% my opinion as well. Treating ethnicity and culture with care while also juggling prose and characterization is no small feat, but you've managed that very well. You do a great job of illustrating different aspects of Henry's background and culture without relying on tropes or stereotypes, you integrate language without it seeming forced — nailing those moments when there's something that just doesn't quite translate.

On top of it all, you also really nail what it's like to be steeped in multiple cultures — beyond being Asian in a Western country, there's also this nice mixture of the Chinese and Korean parts of Henry's backgrounds; while they're not in conflict, you definitely take the time to make sure that each one of them shines, which is awesome.

Plus, all mention of culture aside, Henry's narrative is so thoughtful and insightful, and he's just an adorable kid. He's really piqued my interest into maybe picking up his canon someday soon!

TL;DR, HE'S A DELIGHT.

Henry Cheng is one of my absolute favorite characters in The Raven Cycle and you write him so perfectly. You truly capture his voice with your tags, from that amazing debut to all of his threads in game. I love that his personality shines through so brightly. His meeting with Harry still continues to delight me and I greatly look forward to threading them together more. :D

Ugh, HENRY. I have to run to work so this comment is not going to be profound or long in any way, but you play him perfectly, and I love the attention you give to his sort of liminal status(es) of being between cultures, between worlds of magic and mundane, an immigrant to the US, etc.

Playing out his and Blue's obvious and totally awkward attraction is delightful and I love every tag, but I especially love them getting to know each other. He pings her "yes this one is one of mine" so totally and I love having a chance to play that. And I'm sure every possible HCheng would do that in some way, but yours is so wonderful and alive and I have absolute faith in you to play him, because you're amazing.
