So when I first heard about The Raven Boys, my initial reaction was... BUT WHAT IF I WANT TO READ ABOUT NOT JUST BOYS? And as I watched Ronan thread around in the game, I thought he was awesome, and hearing tweets about his interactions with other boys in the canon was great, but I was desperately wanting to see more characters who weren't boys.

And then you brought Blue in, and my god, she's wonderful.

I think what strikes me the most about the way you write Blue, not having read the actual canon, is the fact that she's got all these emotions and thoughts constantly churning about these complicated relationships she's built up. I don't know how she contains them all in one person! But she does, and you write her in such a way where the reader is really taken into the experience and goes on the journey with her. Sometimes you work in these little tactile details, little things that evoke a whole lot of emotion, in a way that very much mirrors what happens in real life. What we experience isn't always something that fits in a paragraph of prose, sometimes it's a texture, a brush, a touch, a scent, a feeling. And you manage to convey that extraordinarily well.
