I'm not entirely sure that's... well, I'm not entirely sure that's uncalled for, actually. I thought you could go to a "hell dimension."

It's called Limbo. It is connected to all of time and space; I could, in theory, travel to anywhere or anywhen.

Tell me about it. I'm mad just being stuck in one place. So that's--is that the extent of it, the hell sorceress thing? Demon sorceress, sorry. The traveling anywhere in space and time bit?

Not that that's not a great bit.

Within my domain I had absolute power. I'm trying not to lean on that so much. That power is... fraught. I've been learning... different spells. Less demon sorceress, more regular sorceress.

Everyone can do magic, in the same way that everything can burn. Some people might spend their life in meditation and study, honing their mind and soul into an instrument of precision and control, and still find that at best they have mustered smolder just enough to light a candle.

While others... well.

I burn very easily.

So... everyone can, it's just that some people have more of a... natural inclination.

So how do you determine the level of inclination a person has? How do you — how do you foster that spark?

I know, I-I'm asking a lot of questions. But you have to understand, if there's magic in the world, real magic... I want in.

I want to be very clear about something, which you will then ignore: I am a very dangerous person to be asking this question. My spark was fostered at the expense of my soul. Of my actual soul. The path -- any path, not just the one I took -- is neither easy nor safe. I talk about fire because you will be burned.

And now, you ignore that, because you know it exists now. You can't not pursue it.

I don't care about easy or safe, and there's a girl not far from here that'd probably tell you right about now that I don't have a soul, but she's bitter and exaggerating. You're right. I can't not. I have to know. I have been... I've been looking for the path for a long time.

Well, just so long as we're clear. It's your soul to risk, and I can't really warn people off it. I'm not, you know, a hypocrite.

I will say I might be a bad person to ask for another reason. I am... kind of new to magics that aren't infernal. I've been learning from Doctor Strange, who would be far more qualified.

Except he would absolutely refuse to teach you.
