You pronounced it correctly. I have a title, Lieutenant, but you don’t need to use it. We’re all learning, all the time. Even teachers. Especially teachers.

Both. Did you know about the illness of the doctor?

He is sick, still. Last time we met, anyway. But it's something I can't recognise, which makes it harder.

Did he say what he was sick with?

I don't think he knows. Recognises his state, I mean. And it's not my place to tell someone what's wrong with their bodies. Until it's too late.

His state? Is it a terminal illness?

I don't know enough about it to say that. I can recognise someone's death but there has to be something to recognise. I'm not great with metaphors, but it would be asking a dog to name the treats of a type machine.

What do you know about it?

It affects his memory, that's the only thing I know for sure.
