I haven't seen you since-- since I thought you died.

Nooooo...the last time you saw me, you were headed back to Beacon Hills and I was staying put because 'you needed me safe'. That was a few days ago, Derek.

I wasn't there for any of that. I've been here for three years. That me wasn't this me.

[huffs]

You're in a place called Darrow and it's confusing as hell, but I haven't seen you since you were eleven. We were going to go look for frogs. Do you remember?

I remember the frogs...[pauses]

Really, since I was eleven?? [blows out a breath] So you thought...in the fire? You thought I was in the fire.

[lets out a shuddering breath, expression broken]

Yes. All that time-- Cora, we didn't know. We would have looked for you.

Up until the middle of last year, I thought you were dead too. Then I heard there was a new Hale alpha and I tried to find you. Then...[looks uncomfortable] there was some other stuff.

[reaches out to touch his arm] Derek...

[ swallows hard and then drags her into a crushing hug ]

I can't believe you're here.

[hugs back as hard as she can for a long moment]

I can't believe I'm here either. I was in south america. Where is here?

Uh, not at all sure. It's some sort of alternate dimension, we think. I've been here for three years.

Three years? So you... You're still the alpha.

[ his eyes flash red as he looks at her in confusion ]

Yeah.

[her eyes flash gold in response and she smiles]

You weren't alpha when I saw you last.

[frowns slightly]

How was I not an alpha anymore, but still alive?

[smiles broadly]

I know this is serious and everything, but it feels really good to know something you don't for a change. I'm just gonna enjoy this for a sec.

Oh, so you haven't changed much. Still a brat.

[grins back at her]

Shut up. You love me. [smiles softly] You love me enough to give up your Alpha spark to heal me.
