[meme] Test Drive

As announced yesterday, here's Test Drive, just a bit early.

Tag into this post with characters you're thinking of apping to the game (characters who are not currently in-game or currently reserved by someone else). It can be just a tag, a brief EP, a blurb about the character, a line of dialogue, or whatever you want. You can be new to the game, or simply want to test out a fresh pup. Tag each other with these characters or those already in game, and have fun.

Also, please include the name of their canon somewhere in or on the comment or on their profile page.

Limitless (TV)

Brian Finch | Limitless (TV)

So I'm running through the woods with my hands tied in front of me, which sucks, by the way, but at least I'm getting away. Maybe. I mean, I'm currently the smartest guy in the world but they're still highly trained mercenaries. They're still highly capable of kicking my ass.

Except I trip, because of course I trip, and I go tumbling down a hill. When I sit up with a groan, I'm... not in the woods anymore. I'm sitting in the middle of a city street, legs splayed out with my hands tied, and I have even less of an idea of what's going on than I did before.

"This was supposed to be my day off!"

"From what?"

Magnus prided himself on being able to make an entrance, but popping into existence in the middle of a busy street was one he had not tried yet. Not with hands tied, anyway. Restraints rarely worked on him, unless he allowed it.

Thankfully the streets of Darrow were not nearly as busy as any real metropolis, so the two cars that would have collided with the man slowed to a puzzled idle a safe distance away. Magnus strode out into the street, coffee in one hand, and gripped the man by the arm to pull him onto his feet. "C'mon."

I have no idea who this guy is. Is he with the mercenaries? Is he going to chop my head off? Maybe he's just a concerned citizen. For a guy who knows everything, I sure feel like I know nothing right about now.

He hauls me up and I go stumbling, but I manage to right myself by the time we get to the curb. I huff indignantly, and finally get a look at the guy. Wow, that's a lot of glitter. "Whoa, dude. Digging the whole glam look. How long does it take to make your hair do that?"

Mystery Man immediately won himself two points for appreciating Magnus, but it would take a lot more points to make this interaction more than an obligation. He wasn't sure why he had bothered picking him up anyway, except that it was something Alec might do.

"It's actually pretty easy with practice. The magic is in the product." Absolute truth. "I'm still looking for a good replacement in Darrow here."

"Darrow? Is that where we are?" Brian asks, looking around. "I was in some woods in Pennsylvania like, thirty seconds ago."

He looks down at his hands and then awkwardly holds them out to the guy. "Look, I know this sort of thing is reserved for like, very special friends and unlucky hotel maids, but can you do me a solid and untie me? Rope burn is a bitch."

Magnus lifted an eyebrow at the request, then sighed. He made as though to reach into his back pocket, and when his hand appeared again, there was a little pocket knife. He set his coffee down on the curb and sawed at the rope. He didn't want to chip his nail polish by pulling apart rope.

"Darrow's the name of the city," he continued. "You're not in Kansas any more, Dorothy, so forget about it."
