[meme] reverse questions
Muns: Post here listing all of the characters you play (you might want to list journals, too, just for reference) or are thinking of playing.
Everyone: Ask the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR PUPS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this pup?", "How do you channel them?", etc.) You can even have pups ask the questions, but ANSWERS are coming from the MUNS.

But, also, will Danny ever own up to the letters he's been anonymously sending Mindy?

When does Danny ever own up to anything unless he has absolutely no other choice at all? XD He certainly won't be sitting her down and saying, hey Min b-t-dubs, those letters were from me I luff you. I'd like him to write another asking Mindy to meet Mysterious Man at a specific time and place but I envision it not going to plan. He's definitely at the point where he wants to meet her and it all to be magically roses but that's not them or TMP or me XD So something external will probably keep him away - some horrendous labor maybe(?) - and the only way he can make sure Mindy isn't stood up by Mysterious Man is to beg her to ditch her romantic meet-up and come help him instead. What do you think? HELP DANNY or MEET POTENTIAL LOVE OF LIFE, Mindy?! If she chooses him then I think that'd be the last kick he needs to just go for it.

Maybe that's a cop-out. It's not really a Danny-specific response! So I'll also say that not caricaturing him is challenging. I love his hypocrisy, I love his judgmental side, I love the curmudgeonly old man, I love that he contradicts his own self-proclaimed values and behaviors almost constantly but sometimes it's hard because, to an outside, it might look inconsistent or like I'm not a conscientious player. I feel like I have to constantly justify him a little bit. But I swear, it's just him! He'll have a call girl in his phone and lecture Hedwig about giving people BJs for money! He'll harp on to Mindy about being unhealthy and light up a cigarette in the courtyard five minutes later! He's a Jesus freak and super Catholic but he's pro-contraception and has plenty of sex before marriage. He's straight through and through but he's tactile with those he likes (short list) of both genders and doesn't mind a flirt in the locker room.
But that's what I love about him. People are like that. He's the most "real" pup I play <3 He can be THE MOST BORING, NAIVE AND IGNORANT GUY EVER and then completely surprise you. Former stripper? Okay... Freaky in the bedroom? Alright. Down and dirty on the dance floor? Yes please.

Why I kept him is a much longer story. I love having pups from comedies but with Ray, he has more than enough backstory for me to explore drama too. His snark and constant complaining is a joy and his struggles with his moral compass have given me great fodder as a writer. Both the TR and the non-TR versions of him have evolved over the years and I've never once felt stale with him. He rubs people up the wrong way but deep down he is unarguably a good man, so it's always been interesting to see how other pup's perceptions of him change over time :D
What do you like most about the character??

Does Ray feel any differently now regarding the twins and his role in their lives now that it's just him and Asher raising them?
Will David still make Bryan macaroni and cheese when they're poor? :(
Hi, Arnold.

Ray: absolutely. Now is the time for him to step up (thanks, Kevin) and he's TRYING but he kind of feels like he's doing it all wrong. Asher having no memories scared the shit out of him 'cause while he has experience being the twins' dad's silent pause and their sometime babysitter, he's never really felt like a PARENT. And suddenly there were two little people that depended on him alone. So now Asher's back, he's unfortunately taken a step in the complete opposite direction. He's stepped back to let Asher take control and isn't being as supportive or present as he should be now (hence moo shu pork in teh hospital canteen - he's THERE but he's not there). The prospect of more parental responsibility and actually raising them when he's never really know what or who he should be to these kids scares him. I guess when there were four parents, he was never forced to directly question it. He's always grappled with it but never faced it head on.
David will do anything for Bryan when it comes down to it. Macaroni and cheese is the least he can do for the man who's got the most important job in the world - taking care of their son.
HELLO. WOULD YOU LIKE TO--never mind. Your soul is lost already.

All of the TMP characters have their quirks and Danny just seemed to be this person who turns up to work every day like "how the hell did I end up surrounded by all these weirdos?" when HE'S just as big of one XD He's so stuck in his ways and I thought someone like him would be fantastic fun to play in a place where he would be forced out of his comfort zone on a near constant basis. I knew there was a lot of potential for evolution and that I could come up with entertaining (and hopefully comedic) triggers/scenarios to prompt it. The fact he hates change so much, and deals with it so badly, just made him all the more appealing. Plus, he has all of my favorite basic characteristics of Vecchio (Catholic, complainer, tight with money, good man, childhood trauma) but
he's hot and his icons are prettierI get to play them in a different, more extreme, way.Speaking of Vecchio, he's still freaking out about the words "raising them", thanks...
