We were craving a meme, so after some digging around, we've got something new and different for you guys, with a huge hat-tip to the bakerstreet RP memes comm (original post here). Let's get some of those marriage feels sorted.

Time to get your faux-historical/fantasy novel on. For today's meme, your pup is getting married, whether they want to or not. It's arranged marriages time!

HOW IT WORKS

POSSIBLE REASONS FOR MARRIAGE
1) Station → You come from a royal, noble, or otherwise distinguished family who has chosen a suitable spouse for you.
2) Feud → You are being married to put an end to the bitter enmity between your two families.
3) Economics → Your economic state and/or your station will improve through the union, though one of you may be marrying down.
4) Empire → You and your spouse are merging your businesses and/or property to create something more influential or profitable.
5) Tribute → You have been offered as a gift or appeasement; alternately you're the spoils of war.
6) Bloodline → Carrying on your distinguished family name has fallen to you and the equally well-bred spouse of your family's selection.
7) Disapproval → Your marriage has been arranged to keep you away from the person with whom you truly wish to be.

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS
1) First meeting → This is the very first time you're meeting your future spouse.
2) Courtship → To get to know each other and encourage affection, your family has approved of you going on dates.
3) Engagement party → Be it a huge, formal affair or a small, intimate get together, you're celebrating (or pretending).
4) Wedding day → The big day!
5) Reception → The big party!
6) Wedding night → Every meme needs a smut prompt, right?
7) Honeymoon → Where will you go with your new spouse and what will you do there?

Drabbles or text threads or dialogue! Pre-musketeers, being married off to avoid scandal because he's fallen for a certain girl in the village works well, since it probably almost happened, but I will take any and all circumstances.)

The fighting had been a terrible strain on Paris for the last several months, with the King's mother creating strife in each household, amongst her loyal and those not. In her last, desperate hour, she had taken up members of the Court too desperate to do anything but fight, but upon the hour of defeat, they meant little to her. "Give them to whomever you seek fit, as an act of surrender," had been one of her last commands before exile.

It was this that brought Porthos to the house of one Olivier d'Athos de la Fere, on his doorstep with a sack of possessions and plenty of scars from the battling. He had knocked many times, but it took a great number of tries more before the door was pulled open by a man that Porthos found quite handsome, even if he was to be his master and lord.

"Comte," Porthos greets him. "I believe Richelieu sent warning that I would be coming? I am your...prize," he says, the word bitter on his tongue.

The seemingly simple English doctor had come to Center's attention some weeks ago. He might seem like just a GP, but he and his flatmate had ties to some of the highest levels of the British government, not to mention one of the world's criminal masterminds. Operations rolled his eyes every time he said that phrase, but it was still true. They'd put Nikita into Watson's life with a little well-placed blackmail and now it was working out very well, at least for Section.

Nikita wasn't so fond of it, despite John being largely a nice bloke. Still, knowing that she was being maneuvered into marrying someone had always bothered her. Probably always would. All the same, she went along with it, because it was either that or be cancelled. And not only would she be cancelled, John would be too.

"So, I'm thinking we skip the white dress and such. Makes me look ill," she suggested.
