I don't much believe in taking what I'm told at face value. Especially not when it comes to something this impossible. If nothing else, it's worth getting the gang back together to see what we can figure out.

I think that that's an excellent idea. Mostly because I put it out there first, but the collaboration was good too. Did everyone have their seatbelts on when we crashed, or did we lose some people through the windshield?

Banner hasn't shown up yet, and neither has Thor. On the other side of things, we're short Fury and Hill but up Coulson.

Thor is on site. I expect Banner'll be fashionably late, like usual. Seen Coulson pop up a couple times, which was, you know. Weird. But helpful.

Very. I'm finding it's surprisingly common in our line of work, people not being dead when they're supposed to be.

I'm going to go out on a limb and describe the tone of that bit as 'slightly ominous,' though. Something you wanna share with the class?

Fury faked his own death. Went all-out with it, too. I waited in the hospital, stood next to his body. It was very convincing.

I'd say I was surprised, but you know. Lying.

It is Fury's style. Still, watch someone flatline, get a good look at their corpse, and it's hard to suspect them of faking it.

That might be one very specific sequence of events that I would say would allow for that kind of conclusion, yeah.

I guess this is even a bit much for him. I mean, the whole team retreat idea is cute, but I think he's more of a seminar kind of guy.

Definitely. Even if the point was to get us working like a team again, it wouldn't be like this. Too counterproductive. I think he'll be laying low for a while, anyway.
