Meme: Reverse Questions

Muns: Post here listing all of the characters you play (you might want to list journals, too, just for reference) or are thinking of playing.

Everyone: Ask the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR PUPS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this pup?", "How do you channel them?", etc.) You can even have pups ask the questions, but ANSWERS are coming from the MUNS.

I'm Scott, and I play:

Katherine Pierce | [personal profile] selfmadevamp
Ellie | [personal profile] and_survive
Jessica Drew | [personal profile] herownway

The queue is a dark and murky quixotic land from which no one escapes. We shall not venture there.

What attracted you to ultimates Jessica?

it was a joke that went terribly wrong

No, initially I found about her and read her issues with the intention of using her in memes because haha, girl clone, but then more and more I started thinking about what the inside of her head was like since it had to be P. WEIRD. And then I haven't really been able to stop thinking about it, thus.

And specifically this entrance point Jess was because it was the furthest along without her thinking her world was ending I could do when I apped her, and if I'd waited I'd probably still be waiting for All-New Ultimates to come out and I just couldn't.

Those sorts of jokes are the worst. She's a great character. I've been rereading the earlier USM run again. I love when she shows up.

Jessica goes back in time to the day before Peter gets bitten by the spider. At what point does she try and alter the timeline, if she alters it at all?
herownway: ([art] This thing.)

[personal profile] herownway 2014-03-07 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
She tries to save Uncle Ben; it inevitably goes terribly wrong. Someone else dies, Peter doesn't become Spider-Man, the world enters dystopian future, eventually she and Uncle Ben have a long chat in which he tells her it's okay and she goes back in time to stop herself from stopping it or what-have-you.

(Same deal with considering killing/stopping Ock, kind of. No Jess, Miles never gets back on the horse, this is Bad.)

What about saving Peter?

herownway: ([art] This thing.)

[personal profile] herownway 2014-03-08 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I've been running permutations. Uncle Ben comes to mind first, and then Stop Reed Richards because of all the damage he does. But then they need Reed to stop Galactus, so.

But yeah, she'd think long and hard about taking a shot at saving Peter, because it's harder to see any downsides to throwing herself on that Goblin-shaped bullet if she has to.

But time-travelling Sue Storm!Kang was a nutcase so she'd have reservations about the whole 'fix things with time travel' idea right from the get-go.

Has Ellie allowed herself to think about her future in the long-term within Darrow yet? If yes, what does she picture or want to happen? If not, what do you think is most holding her back?
and_survive: (Default)

[personal profile] and_survive 2014-03-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
She has trouble with it, which is kind of the standard trouble a 14/15 year-old has with picturing their future married to the fact that she doesn't really know what a future looks like. (There's a line in the Left Behind DLC about how they don't know anyone, not a single person, who's died of natural causes.)

So she wants... normal things, a life, but she doesn't know what that entails or even what kind of life she wants, it's never been a question that's up to here. (insert long post about TLOU themes about agency.) And she still kind of expects that the world's going to end before too long, or that it could end at any moment, and she wants for her life to have meant something and for her survival back home to have been for something, but there's nothing she can see herself achieving that would possibly be worth it, now -- both back home and in Darrow, actually -- so what is she meant to aspire to?

What pulled you to Katherine?

[personal profile] selfmadevamp 2014-03-08 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
She is magnificent and terrible. She's basically the first full-on bad guy I've played and it was kind of deliberate, because she's a very fun character. I always loved her the most in canon simply because she's so uncompromisingly self-interested, and so vibrant with it. So I figured hey, I'll play her, she doesn't have to be too active since she's not the make friends type (the triumph and the tragedy of Katherine Pierce is that the very thing that keeps her alive is the thing that stops that life from being complete, she's so busy surviving that she has no one else to value her survival) and she can cause havoc.

and then I started seeing her side of things and have trouble remembering she's not the protagonist

How do you think Ellie is going to react to Riley in the long term? Will she be distant because of the lies (and the guilt) or just try to move forward, happy she's back? OR A LITTLE OF BOTH?
and_survive: (Less than okay)

[personal profile] and_survive 2014-03-08 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
BOTH, definitely both, like she'll definitely be distant but on the other hand she just cares about her so much she wants to beeee with her.

basically left behind in long-form, on repeat, I guess. GO. DON'T GO. GO. DON'T GO.

So this mix of keeping Riley around but like, trying (and inevitably) failing to keep emotional distance, maybe?

What is your favorite thing about each of your ladies?
herownway: ([pb] cop shades)

[personal profile] herownway 2014-03-08 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
Katherine - how uncompromisingly herself she is, lady Does Not Give A Shiz, so I find her narration just a continuous delight. I like when she gets foiled and petulant, I like when she pulls something off and other people get annoyed, she's just... forever entirely herself. She don't care about yo judgements!

Ellie - I mean, it's always a hard call, any character there's so many things, but I think my favourite single thing that isn't like LOOK HOW COMPLEX THE CHARACTER LET US DISCUSS LAYERS is the whistling and the puns, it just... symbolizes everything she's about, she carries books of puns around the post-apocalypse world to lighten the mood. ACES.

Jessica - this changes day by day. Right now it's her canon Nick Fury Jr attitude, all going rogue and waging crusades and showing up in people's bedrooms to recruit them and sassing the Director of SHIELD about making deals with evil organizations.

also her hair

but they're cutting it off

it's an emotional time
