You don't - it doesn't feel like we're pack anymore. I'm not really surprised. Scott's here, so uh, you should be good.

[ looks a little sad, but not upset with him ]

Yeah, about that. I uh, I think I kinda transferred my allegiance to a new alpha without realizing it? Sort of. I didn't understand I was doing it, but after you threw that glass at me...

[Clears his throat, eyes wide] Scott's here?

Back up. I did what? Isaac I would never - can you just tell me what happened? With the glass, I mean.

I really, really hate talking about this.

You kind of threw a glass at me the way my D...well, you already know the story. And then you kicked me out, which is how I wound up living with Scott and probably how I ended up as his beta.

That doesn't sound like something -

Were you in danger, living with me? The alpha pack, I assume I was their target.

Trust me, I already know that you did it to protect me, but it doesn't exactly take away from the fact that you could've just told me. Between that and the alpha pack trying to kill me, repeatedly, I was grasping for some kind of guidance and you weren't there.

And this is a fight we've already hashed out, so I don't even know why I'm bringing it up again.

Oh. Yeah, that sounds like me. For what it's worth, I'm sorry. All I've ever wanted was to keep all of you safe. And I couldn't.

[ slumps visibly ]

I wasn't ever meant to be an alpha. I had no idea what - It's fine, Isaac. I'll let you go find Scott.

[ turns to leave, assuming the worst and feeling sort of miserable ]

[Groans and closes his eyes tightly] Derek, come on. Life sucks, trust me, I know that you haven't had things easy. I'm sorry I made Scott my new alpha. I didn't do it actively.

Besides, I'm still grateful to you for, you know, saving me from my crappy life.

It's fine, Isaac. You don't owe me anything. I wasn't a good alpha, and you deserve one.

I'm just lucky I'm getting another chance here. I mean, Stiles is a handful all on his own, but I'm getting the hang of it, I think. Learning how to use my words, and all that, or he yells at me.

Okay, I missed so much, apparently.

He's here. It was him first, and then me. For the long time, it was just the two of us. We sort of made a pack of our own without really realizing it.

Okay, so we both kind of have new packs. Except that I haven't told Scott he's my new alpha?

...Yeah, things are weird.

[ snorts, amused ]

Yeah. I don't know what happened back home, but Scott isn't an alpha here.

So does that make me an omega?

If you'd rather be an omega than call me alpha, then yes, I suppose so. And if that's the case, I understand.

It's not such a big deal here. You won't be in danger as an omega. It's your choice, Isaac.

I really didn't mind you being an alpha too much. I mean, apart from the times when you kind of got us into trouble and danger and maybe acted rashly.

Right. Well, I did the best I could at the time. I know it wasn't good enough, but I did try.

Being here has given me perspective, I think. I've learned from my mistakes. It's amazing how well you can think when you don't have imminent death coming at you from all angles. [ laughs bitterly ]

But anyway, yeah. It's up to you, Isaac.
