Admittedly, the circumstances are a bit... complicated. But most things are around here.

Complicated how, then? Since you're a friend of my sister's, I hope you'll indulge me.

Complicated only because we met here in Darrow. There is a good chance that you have not spoken to Sybil since the two of us met, even if you saw her only moments ago. Time works differently here.

*rueful* It’s a lot to take in, I know. Sybil will be glad to see you, though. She speaks often of her family.

Wait, you're talking about Sybil, too? I thought you must have meant--

It wasn't only moments ago that I last saw her. It's been a long time, in fact. And I don't know if you and that other man have planned this, or why, but honestly, I'm begging you, don't do this. It's just too much.

I'm sorry, I- *frowns* My sincere apologies, miss. I am not sure I follow.

My sister died. Over a year and a half ago now, and as it's hardly some secret, I see no reason why you should keep carrying on like this.

*speechless at first, struggling to process this* Le bon Dieu. *takes a breath* I know this will be difficult to understand, but Sybil is alive and well- here, at least. It happens sometimes; people we think gone from us are found again, perfectly whole.

*swallows* You have no reason to believe me, I understand that. But I can only tell you what I know.

You do seem as if you mean it, I'll give you that. But, you see, the last time someone we thought was gone was found again, t turned out he was just pretending, so you'll understand if I'm not so quick to believe such a tale.

She is a remarkable woman. *maybe blushes just a little* I cannot imagine her dissembling in such a grand manner, either.

Oh, Sybil would never. Someone who thought they had something to gain, however, just might.

I cannot imagine anything that she would have to gain. I trust that she is who she says - and I think you will, too, as strange and remarkable as it must sound.

Oui- yes, of course. *clears his throat, half-fearing that he may now be under inspection of some kind* I come from Paris, most recently, where I was studying medicine. Sybil kind enough to show me around when I arrived here a few months ago.

Studying medicine? It's no wonder she'd like you. Have you heard about when she announced she was becoming a nurse?
