No one takes me. Not even the moon.

But you run with her, right?

I run with her, but sometimes when I'm real mad I can go with her, too, even if she's not big.

I run with the moon when I choose to, but usually when I'm mad too.

Wolfs can't choose. Just when the moon gets big or when we're mad. But we can't control it most of the time.

On the full moon, you mean? I'm Derek.

Yeah, when she's big and fat!

Hi, Derek! Can we shake hands? It's nice to meet you, right here and now!

Uh, sure.

[ holds his hand hand, keeping the other one in his pocket ]

Wow, great! [shakes Derek's hand enthusiastically, pumping up and down a bunch of times]

Jacky told me sometimes werewolves have to get bit. Wolfs are born Wolfs. Did you get bit?

[ laughs a little and pulls his hand back, tilting his head to look curiously at him ]

No, I was born this way. I know bitten wolves, though. I've bitten a few myself.

Yeah? And then you make them werewolves? Wolfs can't do that. I could bite and bite a guy when I'm with the moon and he'd just...

...bad things would just happen to him. He'd just get dead. I don't do that.
