When I came out of hiding, they told me that you had gone clean for a time. It gave me a great deal of hope.

Perhaps a bit more egotistical than previously pictured, though.

I'm afraid a club wouldn't have helped me very much. Fifty-five years, after all, was only achieved through isolation and Leo's rules. Otherwise, I'm afraid it might have turned out like some of the other cycles.
