You were a lovely person to be santa to. You have some more dreamwidth points coming your way, those songs once I figure out how to send them, and my love.
You will also have an awesome and amazing comic book bracelet, once you tell me what character you'd be interested in

SARAH

When everything goes to hell, Russell isn't at all surprised to find Natasha patrolling the streets and when he runs into her, his gun drawn, she cuts him a glance that makes it clear she expects him to join her. Whether it's to keep him safe or because she wants his help, he doesn't know, but he's not about the disobey her, not with the explosions rocking the city in the distance and people all around them screaming and confused.
"You know what's happening?" he asks, his voice low as he sticks close to her side.
She shakes her head, then says, "But we will find out."
They never do. It isn't like before. The monsters are different and yet familiar to the both of them at various times. She doesn't ask him about the ones he notices and he doesn't ask her about the ones that draw her gaze more than the others, but they keep moving together, looking for people they know and Russell's expectations lower with every passing day. He doesn't understand how Natasha remains calm when he becomes more and more agitated as time goes on. People all over the city are dead and nothing is changing back, nothing is reverting to the world it used to be and Russell can feel the panic rising with every day.
They're in his apartment when something outside the door screams and starts to slam against the door. Russell's resolve breaks and he reaches for his gun, his hand trembling, his expression pained. Against his pale, drawn skin, his eyes look glassy, dark circles like smudged bruises. The thing at the door continues to scream and Russell raises the gun, his free hand lifting to cover his ear, trying desperately to block out the noise.
Natasha lays her hand on his and Russell turns his head sharply, staring at her with scared, troubled eyes.
"Russell, don't," she says and when she presses on his hand, he lets her lower it.
"I can't-"
"I know," she says, cutting him off. "I know."
"This is the hardest... the... shit," he says, looking away from her, ashamed, but when she touches her fingers to his chin, he looks up again.
"I know," she says again. "We're doing what we can."
"We're helpless to change anything," Russell answers, looking disgusted with himself.
Natasha smiles gently and shakes her head. "We'll be alright," she tells him. "You'll see."
That she kisses him comes as a surprise, but Russell finds himself responding with the same desperation he's been feeling for days. She untangles the gun from his fingers, puts on the safety and lays it on the table, all without moving away from him and Russell's arms go around her, holding on, pressing against her. It isn't because she's all he has left, but because he needs to feel that same calm she possesses, he needs to let her give it to him, to share it with him and he's sure that's what she's doing.
The thing outside the door stops screaming and Russell can hear it moving down the hall. His heart is still racing, but for other reasons now, and his hands are no longer trembling.
They'll be alright. He believes her.

I know, right.
So! I literally wriggled with excitement that I get to do stuff for you, and I hope you haven't minded all the nostalgia. We kinda go back, and if you'll allow me to get all mushy for a moment, that's something I fucking treasure. I have the utmost faith in you and what you will accomplish someday, and let's face it, I'm like, never wrong. I love you lots. So, in addition to a mystery package that will arrive at your house hopefully in a few days, a little bit of nostalgia mixed with things to come:
Fred/Jason:
"If I-- fuck," he said roughly, and that was about as good as Jason Stackhouse could manage to be.
Stepping forward into her space, he took the idea of sweeping her off her feet literally, lifting and gathering her up as he crashed his mouth against hers. He'd been fucking celibate for months now, and maybe he wasn't near her league, someone so beautiful and smart, but if she didn't mind? Jason was willing to overlook his lack of qualifications.
So long as she didn't hit him or shove him away, he would kiss her until he was out of breath.
She'd thought that he might kiss her. But then again, Fred had thought that back in the kitchen, and that'd all turned out completely different, hadn't it?
She barely hesitates to kiss Jason back when he does kiss her, and that's only because she's not expecting to be lifted off of the ground. Fred can almost hear her heart beating in her ears, she thinks, the blood rushing to her head as it flushes her cheeks.
It's been a long time since she's kissed anyone, but it's really obvious that Jason's a good kisser.
Jason finally broke the kiss, though he didn't exactly put her down. Instead, he rested his forehead against Fred's, taking in a couple of deep breaths. "I really like you," he said, hopelessly blunt. "I mean, I'm probably not any good for you, but I like you, Fred."
He kissed her again, this time much more softly.
"Is this-- okay?"
"This is definitely okay," Fred replies, and the corners of her mouth turn up into a grin as their foreheads press together. There's no question about whether she's got the signals right this time.
She leans in and covers her mouth with his again, and all the stuff that he says about him not being good for her, that's just a bunch of hooey as far as she can tell.
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
Open Arms
So now I come to you, with open arms
Nothing to hide, believe what I say
So here I am with open arms
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me
Hey Soul Sister
Your sweet moonbeam
The smell of you in every
Single dream I dream
I knew when we collided
You're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind
Faithfully*
And being apart ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you
Oh girl
You stand by me
I'm forever yours
Faithfully
*Jason would like to note that while no, the story doesn't fit exactly right, it's the song he imagines when he imagines them dancing together some night
