You have/have had MANY successful long-running ships during your tenure in the city. What is your secret?? Do you ever reach a 'now what?' moment after a certain point/achievement in the relationship? If so, how do you handle that? If not, HOW??

ROFL God, I don't know. I don't know that it's a conscious decision, but I tend to ship with players I already mesh really well with, which helps. I definitely have reached the "what now" moment, many times. A few times, we've mutually dropped, when we've run out of stuff to do. A few times I've been a jerk and dropped, when I felt like there wasn't anywhere for my pup to go. I've played out a fair number of breakups. I rebooted a character, once, in part to get them out of a relationship that wasn't working.

So, I guess it just depends on the situation. But yeah, some relationships stagnate, some characters just don't do well when they're settled and happy, unfortunately.

Selfish question: how do you think Neil and R are gonna interact going forward without Edgar?

After playing Spike for so long, what are some of the ways he's changed from canon? Are there any ways he's exactly the same?

Honestly? I don't know. Neil pretty desperately wanted them both back in his life, in some capacity, because they're family even if they weren't together romantically anymore. Whether or not they ever got to a place where he could ask for that, after what he did, WHO KNOWs. They're grieving together, now, so I feel like they WILL interact, and Neil's going to worry about R a lot, now that he's alone, but I just don't know.

LOL I feel like Spike is one of mine that HASN'T really changed that much. Like, I suppose him being in a relationship with a male godking or whatever is a big change, but it also... isn't? He's always been drawn to powerful people, and he's always been so driven by his capacity for love, even when he was soulless and couldn't express his devotion in a healthy way. He's been through a whole lot in Darrow, and maybe he's grown to accept what he was and how he came to be the person he is now in a way he hadn't in canon, but he was definitely already on that trajectory when I plucked him out of it.

I am very much enjoying the snarky banter, and the smut is pretty great, but Neil also has something a professional/intellectual curiosity in Bill, that he's never really had before? It feels like it has the potential to be a reflection of this person Neil's growing up to be, if that makes any sense at all.

A lot of shouting, and he's going to be freaked out, but maybe not... as freaked out as he could be. I don't know that he'll believe that it's inevitable, and he's also 16, so 40 seems a fucking lifetime away.

Her willingness to risk her own life in order to protect people she barely knows, because she believes that it's right. Abby is ultimately a good person, she just got lost for a while. She's shown that, even living in a world where doing unconscionable shit is the norm more often than the exception, she wants a better world. She wants to help the people that she cares about find it.
