She's back. She hadn't even realized she'd been here at all, until she's back again, looking around the strange, not-Hawkins city. She takes a breath and walks forward; this time, at least, she knows not to panic. Instead, she starts to explore, keeping an eye out for the friends she knows are here, but also learning about the place, observing the strangers and their behavior as much as the street signs and buildings.

This is turning into old hat. (That's a phrase Judith heard once, and she likes it.) She's been here only a few times, but every time is no less surprising, no less jarring, until she recognizes the weird, not-destroyed landscape of a world without Walkers.

She's still wearing her katana, because of course she is. She still has her gun on her hip, because of course she does. And her own old hat, a memento of the brother she barely remembers. She's standing in the park, and it's clean and trimmed and there are people running around with discs they're throwing to each other, and other people walking dogs of all different sizes and colors, and even some people just sitting on blankets together, not a care in the whole world.

Must be nice.

Judith looks around to orient herself, then starts making her way to Uncle Daryl's.

"Hey," he said, finding her in the park and trying not to get his hopes up that it'd last, this time.

He'd seen the way she watched the people mill around, careless and soft and oblivious, and felt another pang. This was exactly the kind of life her dad and brother had wanted for her, but try as they all might, she was still a kid carrying a katana and gun.

Dog trotted up to her, greeting her as an old friend— which meant a lotta tail wagging and face snuffles.

There's a new house in Darrow. It's a large, brick Georgian thing, with a neatly manicured lawn trimmed by a sturdy curb. As Darrow becomes aware of it, the fog around it disperses, and it transitions from something haunted and intimidating and instead into the sort of house one might see at the edge of any cul de sac, in any older suburban neighborhood.

From it, steps Lisa, in her black Souxsie and the Banshees tee shirt, black jeans, black smokey makeup, and dark hair hanging loose around her shoulders. A pair of old, foam-padded headphones hangs around her neck, hooked into the Walkman in the pocket of her black sweater.

It's light out. The fog is gone. Her parents and brother are gone. She stops at the edge of the curb, looking at the road, across the street to houses that aren't her neighbors', to the street sign that isn't hers. She doesn't step off the curb; instead, she hugs herself, eyebrows tugging into a scared, confused arc.

"H-hello?"

"Su?" He's confused, certainly, but surprised as well. This isn't the sort of adventure she's bound for anymore, is it? But all the same, he's walking towards her, half-intent on a hug.

And so he stands in a new world, blinking as he adjusts — to light, to life — his clothes blackened in patches with soot, singed where the flames caressed him, blood staining his fingers. With a low, shuddering breath, J hastily tugs at his sleeve, rolling it down over the torn flesh of his left arm, only to stop when he sees how the marks have all but healed, leaving only a single fading word. He opens his mouth again, a panicked cry on his tongue, and is met instead with a racking cough, his lungs thick with smoke.

It's been a normal day up until now, though Julia knows better than to think that means anything around here. She's been in Darrow long enough to have witnessed firsthand how suddenly and without warning things can change, whether it's a freak snowstorm in the middle of summer or strange creatures coming out of the ocean on New Year's. At least someone showing up several feet ahead of her as she walks home from work, her coat drawn around her shoulders, is comparatively fairly mundane, although as she gets closer, it isn't difficult to determine that he seems to be in rough shape.

She would have stopped anyway, not wanting to leave a new arrival to fend for themselves, but that makes her all the more certain in her decision, frowning in concern as she makes her way towards him. "Are you alright?"
