[meme] test drive
October Test Drive is here!
Tag into this post with characters you're thinking of apping to the game (characters who are not currently in-game or currently reserved by someone else). It can be just a tag, a brief EP, whatever you want. You can be new to the game, or simply want to test out a fresh pup. Tag each other with these characters or those already in game, and have fun.
Also, please include the name of their canon somewhere in or on the comment or on their profile page.

The Untamed/Chén Qíng Lìng
no subject
Attracted by the sudden presence of a figure all in white, Wei Wuxian drifts closer, brows climbing as he takes in the forehead ribbon. It's true that he hadn't bothered to befriend many of the Lan disciples - not a one of them were are interesting as Lan Wangji, so why bother? - but this one's face is strangely familiar.
"A young master of Lan?" he announces, both question and statement as he offers a quick bow.

But this, to see a Gusu Lan Clan member in this place, one so close to his own age but unknown to him nearly causes him to stumble before he steps up and offers a short bow appropriate to one he thinks is younger.

Are you going to stay, sometime?
Saul Evans | The Southern Reach Trilogy
You see a man — an ordinary man, from what you can tell — sitting in the sand on the shore. He sits very near the line of low tide, like he doesn't realize — or perhaps simply doesn't mind — that at this hour it will only encroach upon him slowly until his worn boots and heavy trousers are salty and soaked. He is not quite old, but certainly not young, too old to be staring so out at the sea in such a dreamlike haze. Or to sometimes pull his knees close to his chest and put his head down between them, as though fighting off a wave of some internal source. Or perhaps in prayer.
His name is Saul Evans, but you wouldn't necessarily know that. He is a lighthouse keeper, which might be guessed to look at him, if one is familiar with such. There is something growing in him, blossoming within the skull, expanding the mind beyond what any man could bear, but you wouldn't know it to look at him. He does not notice you; not even if you draw close. For his attention you will have to speak.

After a long stretch of quiet, she looks up at him — at nearly ten, she's still small for her age, and could easily pass for six or seven.
"Hullo," she says, in her gentle, Irish lilt. "Are you alright?"

Umbrella Academy | Allison Hargreeves
It's nice for five whole seconds.
Allison comes to standing in the middle of the street, gasping like she's just had the air sucked out of her lungs -- and maybe it has? Who the fuck even knows what time traveling does to a body? -- and none of her siblings are there.
"Goddammit," she curses, bracing both hands on her knees as she catches her breath.
Not again.
"Five?" Allison looks up, tries to place the time she's in. It looks more modern than 1961 Dallas, at least. "What did you do this time? FIVE!"
Allison stares at the woman in front of her with suspicion, then looks around as though she could possibly be talking to someone else.
"Just come on by some time," the woman adds, and the flyer promoting the Darrow Academy of Hair Design she's thrusting out is definitely meant for her.
Allison touches her hair self-consciously, very well aware that it's been a while since she was last at a salon for a perm. "Is this a joke?" she asks, and the woman shakes her head.
"No, of course not!" The flyer is thrust out again, this time brushing Allison's chest. "We're just trying to get hair models in for our students, and you look like you could use some care. We're very cheap!" she throws in as Allison turns around to start walking away.
She looks back briefly, just long enough to flip the lady the bird. The scandalized gasp that follows makes Allison grin -- and she immediately pays for it when she bumps into someone else on the sidewalk.
[Tag any option or just talk back like normal - anything you want!]

"Yeah, not me this time," Five says, and he's still holding half a paper cup of coffee from a cart a few blocks over. Not the worst he's had in Darrow, but the stipend he gets from the city means he has to deal with a dollar cup more often than he'd like.
"Took you long enough."

That's a title, isn't it. Don't you have to die tragically to be a Saint?

the balladeer | assassins
ii. petros park
Re: the balladeer | assassins
He does know how to tell a story with a song, and he knows music, and he hasn't seen anyone else busking, so it makes for a nice change.
Besides, the line about some men having everything and others having none catches his ear, a bit, and he pulls his
guitarlyre from over his back, putting up one foot on a bench to brace it and softly picking up the chords until he's got the key well enough to improvise a riff along. He nods a hello to the new man, with a smile.(no subject)
