The week has only just started, so let's focus on something (potentially) happier, a meme stolen from an idea from Di.

I feel like being the child of two cops would mean automatic rebellion, too, so he'd be brought home all the time by other embarrassed police officers who feel like assholes for having to bring home their superior officer's kid.

After Jacob leaves Darrow, Hannah has a very, very ill advised one night stand with Kaine. It proves even more ill advised when she finds out she's pregnant. It becomes catastrophic when two weeks after the baby is born, Jacob returns, along with the rest of her family.

Knowing it's for the child's best, Kaine quietly steps aside, although it's hard to forget the boy's parentage as it's literally crawling the walls. With red hair and brown eyes he's a ridiculously good-natured child. Smart and funny, everyone he meets adores him. When he grows up, he wants to be a firefighter because he's so strong and wants to help people or a lawyer like his mom, who he absolutely adores. Maybe the first firefighting lawyer.

You come to know a girl well enough, and you get a sense for whether or not they're the type to lay down their arms and get married, have kids, the while white picket fence thing, and there's a reason why Chase never did try to cross that line with Molly, not at first. He's had enough of trying to wrap his arms around women who don't want to be there — Allison taught him that lesson well. But it happens anyway. They drink too much one night, feel too much one night, wake up without enough recollection to do something about it, wake up too groggy and with that slight curling of shame that keeps them from talking about it. So it happens. And there are several months of begging from Chase — no, Robert — because, as much as he knows that it's her right and her body, as much as he respects that, he wants to give this a chance. He doesn't want to screw this up. And some part of him thinks, maybe it'll be better for her too, if only she'd give it a chance. So she does. There's no surprise when the kid comes out blonde, blue-eyed, with a smile barely contained by the tiniest of dimples. It's when their kid doesn't smile that becomes the problem, and there's a lot of that in the first few years as mother and father try to feel around one another in the way most couples do before making that step. Rowan takes after the grandfather he's named after in so many ways, temperamental, proud, and at times even ashamed of the tumult that takes place between his parents. He acts out, he's a veritable little terror, he goes about loving people in the opposite way that he should, if only because it's the best way he knows for grabbing people's attention. Eventually, his scrapes and fights at school do bring mother and father together for a long, long talk. And, as backwards as it is, it works. He smiles a little more once his parents move in with one another, defiant with his front two teeth missing, but there's still probably a wrong lesson learned in the way he tends to address problems, aggressive to a fault. But that's okay. Everyone's got their flaws. (And to his credit, he made a pretty mean ringbearer.)

A little girl that learns to talk to her mother with body language but is totally daddy's little girl. She drives both parents a little crazy with all the crawling on the walls and ceiling and stuff but they secretly find it adorable. At about age 8 she first starts wearing a costume and sneaking off to fight crime as Princess Sparkle Death Spider.

All her life though she struggles against the feelings of violence/urge to kill that she doesn't understand at all, but she's better at resisting it than bother her parents and is stronger for it.

The only plausible Kaine/Gwen baby I could think of involved mad scientists and in vetro fertilization or something so I'm going with... Peter arrives, he and Gwen get married and pregnant but Peter leaves Darrow.

Initially she wouldn't want to involve Kaine but... the first time her baby crawls up on the ceiling and won't come down she ends up calling Kaine and from then on he's more involved in the baby's life.

I'm thinking a boy, with blond hair, whose name is Ben, which just makes Kaine feel all sorts of crazy emotions. Super smart, Ben grows up to be a super scientist rather than a superhero.
