I think it would be easier keeping everyone at a distance. It's harder to get hurt that way, when they leave, which they will. Everyone does.

But, deep down... I think I only want to want that. To not need people, because I do.

I've been in both places. Right after I first arrived here, in Darrow, from the island, I'd already lost -- everyone, there, even before I came here, and I decided I didn't want to risk it again. And I think about it too often. But it's never been...better, keeping everyone at arm's length. Not for very long.

I don't know if that'll help, yet, though, if you don't really know it. Would you accept an annoying friend to force you to spend time with him?

Don't worry. I was always the friend who showed up unwanted with wine and conversation, I can channel that a bit. Perhaps not with wine, unless you want to drink it all, but all the same.
