I'm sitting here thinking about my pups' canons and who would be interesting to have in game, and it occurs to me: Sylar. If anyone dared revisit Heroes, setting Sylar loose in another world of superpowered humans could prompt a lot of plot. It would probably have to be a temp plot, but who doesn't like causing a little chaos?

And, selfishly, Eden would like to request someone bring Luke Glanton from The Place Beyond the Pines. She'd be heartbroken he wouldn't remember her, but heartbreak is half the fun (and, of course, while she's still in love with him, I would never ever push for a ship unless it was wanted).

Olive really misses her parents, okay. Even as a temp app, she'd be happy just to see them again (together, separate, doesn't matter, she just wants her mom and dad). She's been on a homeplot before, but it's been years since she last saw them, and she misses them so much.

They're both such interesting characters, surprisingly well-rounded for teen movie parents, loving funny people, and with their daughter here, grown up, married, and in grad school, they'd have built-in CR with Olive, Eduardo, and probably their friends. GIMME.

Also I genuinely feel like he was a great character trapped in a terrible movie, and we need to free him. Or don't even temp him -- I feel like with some help and a different setting, he could be okay. Also his PB is Dane Dehaan and Eden would have feelings about that.

The Altmeyer sisters - Back Roads

Harley would specifically like to request that NO ONE EVER BRING HIS SISTERS.

Which is precisely why I would love for someone to bring Misty or Amber. Fuck his shit up a little. Or a lot, depending on when the girls are from in the story. There's a lot the boy still doesn't know about his life. And while I'm not about to reenact the end of the story, yikes, I'm not opposed to breaking him a little.

Misty is the middle sister of the group, a sharp, slightly sinister teenage girl who loves to hunt and also has (SPOILER ALERT) committed murder, which is fun and exciting to deal with! She's kind of a mystery because the story is through her brother's eyes and he doesn't fully understand her. Bring her to Darrow and make her her own.

Amber is the oldest sister, 17 or 18 (I forget, it's been a while), rebellious and desperate and lost. Give her somewhere to run wild and get into more danger than Black Lick could ever offer, and also ahahahahaha conflict with her broTHER who understands her A LITTLE TOO WELL

Anna - Frozen

Anna, the true hero of Frozen, the most magical sister, the best and most precious girl. Her sister misses her so much. Come make a snow queen happy. There's a whole world for Anna to explore that Arendelle doesn't really allow for. She's so bubbly and enthusiastic, and it would be so easy to have her meet everyone and run into all kinds of obstacles as she adjusts to the modern world.

Samuel & Annella Perlman - Call Me by Your Name

Elio is the only pup I have that really misses his parents in any tangible way. Derek and Kara are orphans, and Rapunzel never met her parents. But Elio-- he was so incredibly close to both his mom and dad, and they had such a good relationship. They were warm and loving and so accepting, and he misses them so much that he often just breaks down into sobs. It's the only hard part of playing him, really.

I would especially love a Professor Sammy Perlman, Best Dad Ever. What a great character! Super smart handsome dad who gives amazing speeches! And not only would Elio be so, so happy-- it would be interesting for him and Oliver to interact as well.

Look, Harley is SO in love with her and always will be and they're great together, and Pam murdered a whole ton of Nazis with some poison that turned her slightly green, and that's a great backstory. She's wry and brilliant and brave and loving and I just love her but not as much as Harley does! Come make a harlequin happy.

BUT. All of the other Bombshells, too! Kate Kane!!!!!!! Huntress! Question! Raven and Zatanna! Everyone! Trust me, if you haven't read Bombshells, you are missing out! It's a wonderful WWII AU that both recognizes the gravity of what was at stake and is full to the brim with beautiful, smart, strong, bad ass queer ladies! It's definitely my favorite comic, and I think you'll love it, too!

BRING EVERYONE. I know, it's 7 1/2 hours long, totally epic, and means a lot to a lot of people, so it's pretty daunting. BUT. BUT. It's also filled with incredible characters just begging to be played. If I get my shit together and bring Prior, especially, I'll want these guys even more. ANYONE in Angels would be amazing, but let's talk about three of them specifically.


Louis Ironson. I always kind of hated Louis, but the latest production taught me to feel for him. He'd be fascinating to bring into a world like Darrow, where, even with the way things have improved over the years, I'm sure he'd still find social justice issues with which to drive everyone crazy. Imagine Louis adjusting to magic. And selfishly, imagine getting to play out the journey wherein Louis and Prior learn to renegotiate their love into friendship.

Belize. GIVE BELIZE A BACKSTORY AND A PLOT 2K18. BELIZE DESERVES BETTER. Be the one to give it to him.

Joe Pitt. Joe also deserves better! I also used to hate Joe, but there's an interesting, complex human being in there who deserves love and an actual ending! Tony Kushner never gave him one, but always said he believed Joe learned to be less conservative and more himself after the show. Lee Pace thinks he now lives in Hawaii selling surfboards with a hot boyfriend. Give him the life Lee Pace dreams of.

Now he flies smaller planes on secret missions into occupied France. Youngest son of a Scottish earl, attended Eton, and had a fascination with drains as a child. (Appears in the books Code Name Verity, Rose Under Fire, and The Pearl Thief)

Maddie Brodatt, Julie's BFF. English. Also a pilot. Also flew one secret mission into occupied France, though she wasn’t supposed to and it did not go as planned. Does the right thing, even if it’s the worst thing. And then worries about being court-martialed for it. Raised by her grandparents in Stockport, mostly in her granddad's motorbike shop. Excellent mechanic. Generally a great girl and we need her. I’m just saying. (Appears in the books Code Name Verity And Rose Under Fire)

Ellen McEwen, statuesque red-haired Scottish Traveller girl who fifteen year old Julie DESPERATELY wanted to impress. And then they were friends. And then they kissed. :D Won a scholarship to study geology, but wasn’t allowed to take the final exams because of being a "filthy tinker lass". Has a ridiculous dog named Pinkie who is in love with Julie and a twin brother named Ewan who Julie also kissed. :O

Anna Engle, German woman who studied pharmaceuticals in America before the war and worked for the Gestapo during. And then spent some time in a concentration camp. NOT Julie's friend, but would be extremely interesting. (Appears in the books Code Name Verity and Rose Under Fire)

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

First and foremost, GALEN ERSO.



Such an interesting character with so little screen time! Has a whole prequel novel! Awkward family dinners with Jyn and her new husband who kinda sorta almost killed him one time! Looks like Mads Mikkelsen! Plus lots of built-in plot what with the potential to find out what happened in the SW universe. (RIP, Alderaan.)



He had a lot of things to tell her! Those are such sad last words!



Also, how cute is this?

Honorary mentions go to Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe and Bodhi Rook, all of whom I love terribly but cannot find conveniently accessible gifs of!!!! It's such a sad movie and all of the characters have so much potential!!!

Okay, for Greta, I would love... literally anyone from Into the Woods, at this point.

Jack (of the beanstalk) and Little Red Riding Hood are, respectively: a sweet, goodhearted young lad who trusts too easily, and a scrappy, fearless little girl with a knife, both of whom probably have some kind of ptsd by the end of the play if we're being honest with ourselves, and Greta would want to take care of them both so much.



The Witch would be a literal and metaphorical blast to play (WHY DOES THIS GAME NOT HAVE A MERYL STREEP), and I'm sure other characters would appreciate being able to actually have face time with the being who's fucking with them out of spite.



Even The Baker could be VERY INTERESTING though I also don't anticipate any real overlap between 'people who might like him enough to play him' and 'people who'd want to play him in a game where he's been cuckolded by a Hiddles PB' so, y'know... fair. >_>



As far as cross-canon shenanigans go, I would sure love a Ben from Song of the Sea.



He's Saoirse's older brother, and he'd have a lot of complicated feelings about ending up in a strange universe in which his little sister has found herself a whole new family. It'd be fascinating to play out, not least of all because Greta would really want to win him over and he would really not want this fake mum Saoirse's turned traitor for.

Plus, Saoirse and Cu miss him.

Also, I love facetwin shenanigans, so just like.... any other Emily Blunt? There are so many. They're all so fab.

The kind of woman who did everything right, everything kind, only to have life keep kicking her in the shins so hard, she turned to a cult for her last shred of hope? A woman who loved a child, but her loyalty to that child's mother caused her to turn a blind eye to the woman's lies and manipulations? You know she needs a hug, so why don't you bring Grace Halloway to Darrow so she can get one and have a life free of Rapture's crap? (Also, Eleanor has some SERIOUS unresolved issues with Auntie Grace, so that's a thing, right?)

Or maybe your tragedy runs more towards the genius-stripped-of-his-intellect types? The sort who used his mind to break down barriers, innovate technology beyond the capabilities of his time, but at the same time tragically lose the one person he cared for in all the world? Who had a loss so deep, he fled one world for another, created the first true AI, and was locked in a prison of his own body, stripped of his self until he was saved by his own creation? Then look no further than Charles Milton Porter.

And that's just BioShock 2. The OG BioShock has Ayn-Rand-run-amok-wanna-be Andrew Ryan. Con artist and gangster extraordinaire, Frank Fontaine. Psycho-Diva Broadway has-been Sander Cohen. And so - many - more. Hell, even if you want to do a temp app, I HAVE PLOT BUNNIES (so many plot bunnies).

But really, Eleanor really misses her Big Daddy, so there's that, too.
