Mulan considers this and nods. "Welcome back to Darrow, Khutulun. You are not Rouran, and even if you were, we would not be enemies in this place. I have had enough of battles anyway," she says with evident weariness. "What will you do now?"

"Rouran? Long before my time." She considered the woman, pleased to be faced with another warrior, whether or not war has exhausted her.

"Wait. I returned to the place I was last time, I will hope that it happens again. Fa Mulan, your people allowed you to be a warrior? I did not think it common in your culture."

She smiles ruefully. "My daughter is so filial, so industrious, so obedient- and such a pretty general,' my father's last words of me before I found myself here. No, my people do not let their daughters be warriors. In twelve years I saw no other, and myself a general in all of that time."

The stoic woman suddenly laughs- it's a pleasant sound. "Perhaps. There was a Rouran woman, her brother was a tyrant threatening my people and oppressing her household also. She said to me 'what can I do? I'm only a woman.' And so I took off my helmet so she could see that I am also a woman. She needed no further persuasion!"
