MEME: Reverse Questions
Muns: Post here listing all of the characters you play (you might want to list journals, too, just for reference) or are thinking of playing.
Everyone: Ask the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR PUPS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this pup?", "How do you channel them?", etc.) You can even have pups ask the questions, but ANSWERS are coming from the MUNS.
For the last time we did this one, check out the tag.
BONUS: For a voice post meme twist, use sites like Clyp and Chirbit to answer with voice clips instead!

Greta Baker | Into the Woods |
I'm puttering around and tidying, but I'll check back soonish! Will do voice posts (with potential yowling background cat) upon request.

More broadly, I love playing characters who are stubborn and unapologetic, and who are stronger than their societies give them credit for. I also really wanted to explore the sort of person she'd be outside her original context: how she'd thrive in a society that wasn't as classist or patriarchal; how she'd soften if she didn't have to spend so much time and energy just getting by and trying to be heard; how she'd navigate relationships without musical cues; how she'd actually parent.
Plus, y'know. Emily Blunt.

Greta... oof, that's tough. Part of her doesn't want to see anyone, because she's been going through this difficult process of letting her whole universe go, and having anyone from there just show up would make that whole thing a lot harder. But if she had to pick, I think she'd like to see Jack. She saw what happened to his mother, and I think she probably has some vague guilt over how she treated him -- nothing that keeps her up at night, just an awareness that she took advantage. Between all that and the promise she made to his dying mother, he's probably the one person from home that she'd feel the most responsible for (outside her immediate family, natch).
Plus, she knows enough of how her own story ended to know he's the one who found her body, and yikes. I don't think she'd want that to be his last memory of her, if she could help it.

She also hates being caged. Just, on principle.
Greta loves that there isn't as much of a class divide in Darrow as there was back home. There's wealth disparity, sure, but there isn't that sense of having a station and not being allowed or expected to rise above it. The lack of music really wigs her out, though, and it's created this sheen of unreality over certain aspects of her life.

What would she do if a YOUNG/TEENAGE Numair showed up??
What is Greta's favorite baked good?
What, exactly, does she find so endearing about someone like Thomas Sharpe???

Teen Numair would throw her for all kinds of a loop. She'd have a lot of complicated feelings -- glad he's here in some sense but upset that he's not her Numair. He might as well be a stranger, but he's still so familiar? She'd either find him insufferable or fascinating or some uncomfortable combination of both, and she'd be really, really cranky about it.
Greta is probably still more impressed than she should be with pastries that are loaded with cinnamon or chocolate or anything else she probably wasn't able to buy in bulk back in fairy tale land. Brownies feel like an absurd indulgence, simple as they might be.
You ask that as if, absent the Yikes™ backstory, he isn't objectively a Catch. :P He waltzed right out of her adolescent fantasies and asked her out for tea, for goodness sake.
But as far as what she finds endearing about him: his gentleness; how good he is with Saoirse; the fact that, despite also coming from a pretty classist society, he's never made her feel belittled or disposable; his poise (and the moments when she manages to disrupt it). And knowing the Yikes™ backstory, she also appreciates how hard he's worked to be a good man and live an honest

Oh god, so what is the most awkward future thing I could give her? HER CHILDREN I GUESS?? That would be terrible! Let's not!
... Do you just want darkings, Ria, is that what this is all about

I was mostly thinking in terms of canon updates but now my brain is like "What...WERE you asking?"

That said, your example of winning the lottery has me ~intrigued. Being independently wealthy seems like the sort of thing she'd wish for if she didn't know better than to make wishes. And it would be an interesting thing to play out, insofar as it's something she's daydreamed about, but not something she has any actual idea how to handle. HMMMMM.
At any rate, I do think that financial security would give her some serious peace of mind, even if she didn't end up changing her habits that much (unless you count going all-out for Magnus parties).

My favorites are any animals that are intelligent enough and savvy enough to be little shits, really. Crows, half-tame scavenger types that have enough exposure to humans to be unimpressed by them, that kind of thing. I'd also like to write more dog dialogue, because dogs are so sweet and earnest. And one of my long-term goals is to bring in Cloud, Daine's pony, because she has a very distinct voice that I just adore.

What's something you haven't gotten to do with Greta that you'd like to work in somewhere?

HMMMMM. I feel like this is normally where I'd be like 'PAIN 8D' but Greta has already been through the wringer several times, and I think she's had enough. I've been toying with the idea of her getting her son back? She loves parenting Saoirse, but man, she earned that baby.

That makes sense! And I mean "pack" is a fairly useful term anyway, since most people have at least SOME idea of a wolfpack.
Ahahaha fair. But aww yes this seems like a VERY reasonable thing to do for Greta. And Saoirse gets a free little brother out of the deal!

Speaking from personal experience. >_>
