Well, being completely jettisoned from one's environs is never exactly expected, I've gathered. I don't think you'll like it much here, though.

So far, I'm not sure what there is to like. How have you managed to survive, for... however long you've been here?

This place is... tough, I'll admit. I'm tougher. A Lodge never despairs. Besides, something is... not right here and someone has to make sure Betty's okay.

Betty? Why wouldn't she be okay? Did something happen to her?

This place is the kind of strange that crept right out of a horror movie. I could swear I keep... hearing things or seeing things out of the corner of my eyes, and the others talk about blood in the showers or on the walls, bugs everywhere... And something is just... off. I don't know how to explain or if I'm just going crazy. And the weirdest thing is that Betty isn't poking into it to try and figure out what's going on.

There's a mystery and Betty isn't digging into it? That is cause for concern.

For whatever it's worth... I believe you. It sounds like it would take a special brand of crazy to start imagining something like that, especially if you're hearing it from other people, too.

Thank you. It just feels like something is very wrong and I don't know how to stop it or even figure out what it is. Or if I want to know.

In my experience, it's better to know. Even when it feels like you don't want to. Even if it seems to make things harder. At least you don't have to wonder.

Well, then, if Betty won't solve this mystery, I guess I'll have to play Nancy Drew without her. I could use a hand if you're planning on sticking around.

Had I been able to plan ahead, I would not have made my threatening mother garb the same as my travel garb, but, well, this wasn't exactly a predictable turn of events.

Yeah, this place does not care if we are appropriately dressed, it just snatches us away at will. I was, at least, not clad head to toe in blood, but snow and that dress did not go together.

I suppose any place that drags us anywhere without our permission couldn't be expected to be polite, but at the very least, we ought to be able to get suitable clothes first.
