[ it's a good reason. it's not Alice with blood trailing down her mouth and neck, staining her pretty dress, marking her as part of the family. that is, it's a good reason if Zoe is going to believe it, and should she? her eyes narrow slightly, as if she might be able to determine at a glance the source of the blood. Alice — the old Alice — would have said she was being paranoid, but so what if she is? it's not like she doesn't have a good reason. ]

So that's... all it is? Just from a battle, or something?
