Virginia, the last thing I remember is you shooting an arrow through my neck and Darrow's little gang of filthy rebels taking me prisoner on your derelict ship. Darrow was very much alive. I saw the traitorous slag with my own eyes.

And yes, Victra is here, much as I wish she wasn't. I woke up chained to a hospital bed in her apartment.

I'm quite certain that I would remember shooting an arrow through your neck, Cassius. That isn't the sort of thing one forgets no matter how long or messy a war is. But you'll pardon me if I won't just take your word for it. Words are powerful, but easily misused.

Chained to a bed in Victra's care? That is unexpected. She has never struck me as the nurturing type. That must have been a surprise.

And me without a way to prove that I took one of your arrows to my neck and lived. If I hadn't met the true you, I would have wondered if it was some kind of kinky foreplay. But, I don't think you have that in you.

A surprise is severe understatement. There are very few places I would have rather been and in Victra's care is one of them. The only thing that stopped me from killing her was that I hadn't taken my razor with me.

Then we have reached a stalemate on the Darrow situation. But you're right, shooting you through the neck and then seducing you have never been my style. I doubt very much that has changed between now and the event in question. I'm much less brutal.

And it wouldn't have been a fair fight? There is no honor in killing an unarmed man, especially an invalid which it sounds like you were then and are clearly not now. How long have you been here?

A year this month. Too slagging long with only a Julii as company. I would welcome your arrival because at least you're not Victra. Her sister was much less a nuisance than she.

The same cannot be said for your brother. Despite your betrayal, Virginia, I still find you a bit easier to digest than Adrius.

No one would ever think that I was Victra or any Julii for that matter. Whether that is a positive or a negative, if in the eye of the beholder.

I never betrayed you, Cassius. We simply want what is best in different ways. If anything, you betrayed me by aligning yourself with Adrius. He is my brother, but he is also a monster.

Our Sovereign murdered my father and others just to increase her power. Where is the justice in that?
