*Melanie grins fleetingly.* That's true. It's a good name, though. *She feels compelled to defend it in case Harry's teasing. Besides, she likes Newt's name. It's fun to say, and it sounds like something out of a very good story.*

I'm fine. I've got... it's like an illness. I can handle it all right, but if I gave it to anyone else, it'd kill them. Sort of. It's safe to talk to me, though. You won't catch it just by standing close or anything.

It is. *Harry nods grinning cautiously in return* It makes me think of the animals. Seems fitting for someone who writes about magical creatures. I suspect he and Hagrid would really get on.

*He frowns at her description of her illness, even more worried for her.*

Oh, he has loads of them! *Now she's beaming; she loves going into his suitcase and visiting them all.* I think the Mooncalves are my favorite. And the Occamies! Newt says they think I'm like their sister, even though I don't look or smell anything like them. We can show them to you. I don't think Newt would mind. *If he doesn't mind her poking around in there, she can't imagine him minding James's son being there, too.*

*Her smile fades a little at his offer, and she shakes her head.* I don't think magic can help. Dr. Caldwell said I'm a symbiote. That means it's part of me, so there's no safe way to take it out.
