MEME: Test Drive

It may still be Tuesday on the West Coast, but it's past midnight elsewhere. Have at it.
Tag into this post with characters you're thinking of apping to the game (please include the name of their canon somewhere in or on the comment or on their profile page). It can be just a tag, a brief EP, whatever you want. You can be new to the game, or simply want to test out a fresh pup. Tag each other with these characters or those already in game, and have fun.

Thanks. I do appreciate the offer, but... like you said, keeping busy is a much more helpful approach. I guess a weird city is as good a way to occupy my mind as any other.

That's a positive attitude. I hope that I can cultivate the same, but there would seem to be some evidence lurking around against that.

Either way. Good luck.

Thank you. The same to you. It's just such a lot to take in. I can't even imagine the technology you'd need to transport so many people from so many locations, it's — I don't even think it exists in the modern world as I know it.

Not to keep you up at night, but have you considered perhaps that it wasn't a what that did all this, but a who? Maybe a technology is not the only way to get these results.

But I'm rather open-minded anymore.

What's that quote? Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. It's just another name for science. But I guess you're right. Behind any technological, scientific, or magical device has to be someone operating it, right?

Arthur C. Clarke, I believe.

But what I was getting at was that there is a possibility that there is no device involved at all. This could be the action of a powerful being, rather than a powerful thing. One that could intricately manipulate time and space.

After all, biology will always be more resilient than technology. We can replace a knee joint, but we can't build a better one than nature already did, can we?

I think the answer to that depends on who you're asking. There are those who think we actually can improve on what already exists. I think the question's more whether or not we should.

So... you're saying, like, God brought us here or something?
