Honestly, I think the most difficult thing has been making sure I don't alter responses to make interactions easier. Especially going predominantly from film canon as opposed to book canon, which is a decision I'm still really, really pleased with, he's not exactly the most... openly responsive person. He doesn't talk a whole lot, most of the time, and he'll convey a lot with really slight shifts in expression, which works fantastically on film but can be more challenging in writing. I always want to warn people when they thread with him, and often wind up apologizing anyway, just for the fact that he's not a guy you can get a lot out of except in certain situations (usually more intense ones, which there hasn't been much occasion for here yet). It's instinctive, at least for me, to want to give other players something substantial to respond to, and I'm frequently having to talk myself down from that, just because it wouldn't make sense for him, and I still think I've fallen short a little on that front. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's true to canon if people don't always know what to say to him, or if, sometimes, he doesn't actually say anything at all.
