I did, only I haven't worked out how I managed to get here. I would've remembered apparating, I thought.

You certainly would have. This city has its own magic - it brought you here, strange as that sounds.

But is good to meet someone else who knows what Apparating is. There's only a few of us here.

I'm still not sure how it happened. I've gotten much better at spells and apparating, but I didn't think I could be capable of this.

Did you go to Hogwarts? Were you a student there, as well?

I did. Many years ago, now.

I was in Hufflepuff. How about yourself?

Gryffindor, me.

How many years ago? I've been a professor there for a little while, but it's all so new to me. I'm still getting used to not expecting to have someone take away points because I'm out when I shouldn't be.

Gryffindor? Very nice.

From this point in time? A hundred. From my own time, it was much less.

You're currently a professor there? What do you teach?

[He smiles wryly at that.]I don't think that feeling ever really goes away, no matter how old you get or what you become.

I've only been a professor for a year or so, but I teach Herbology. Part of me thinks the only reason they brought me on is because the castle still unnerves people after what happened with Voldemort.

One hundred years? What was it even like back then?

Herbology! That was always one of my favorite classes. That, and Care of Magical Creatures, of course.

...Something happened to Hogwarts?

It was a wonderful school and the best place in the world. I imagine my time had more restrictions. And possible more secret passageways.

You're famous, you are!

Battle? No, I think I must be missing something. I would have remembered hearing about a battle at Hogwarts.

Famous? Really?

Well, you did sort of write the book that everyone's got to read in one of our classes. I'd consider that pretty famous.

My book became a text book?!

I never would have thought - that's wonderful, truly. I haven't gotten the chance to publish it yet, where I'm from.
