Why on Earth are you going around telling a man who simply claims to be Sherlock Holmes who we are?

Say that I have accepted this strange predicament we find ourselves in. Say that we accept magic exists here in this little universe. How do we know that is the real Holmes?

By observing him and talking to him to discern whether or not he is who he says he is?

Then we get a DNA sample and compare it to yours.
