[meme] test drive

Tag into this post with characters you're thinking of apping to the game (characters who are not currently in-game or currently reserved by someone else). It can be just a tag, a brief EP, whatever you want. You can be new to the game, or simply want to test out a fresh pup. Tag each other with these characters or those already in game, and have fun.

Also, please include the name of their canon somewhere in or on the comment or on their profile page.

Miss Lane, I think you might be surprised by just how much I don't think is crazy.

[I heave a heavy sigh. I can't believe I'm going to do this, but with all that's going on, it would be kind of nice to have a neutral party giving me advice. Even if there is an aura of strange around him.]

So we met on this message board called Strange Skies? It's about paranormal experiences people have had, stuff that can't be explained. Well, I saw this... flying man. [Gulp.] He saved my dad and I from being crushed to death by some boulders. Smallville Guy contacted me after that -- That's his handle. We've been friends ever since. But there's someone posting on the boards now, saying he -- or she I guess -- knows who the flying man is and keeps posting coordinates for where he'll be. I guess Smallville knows who the flying man is because he seems really worried about all this.

[Flying man and Smallville Guy, huh? Clark can piece together that puzzle.]

Well, it sounds like your friend and this flying man are lucky to have you on their side.

If only there was something I could actually do. I told Smallville to give a warning to the flying man, but I can't get in there and actually help.

Well if he's smart, and if he's got you as a friend I think he is, then he'll listen to your advice.

Sometimes just knowing that someone cares enough to be worried about you is enough to make you think twice about doing something that may get you hurt.

[Like I am sooo not doing.]

Yeah, I guess. I can't say it's ever stopped me, though.

Does that make me a bad friend?

I think exceptions can be made when what you're doing can help save people.

That's what I like to think, too. If only my parents and my principals and Perry agreed.

Yeah, crack job the principals are doing with that.

As for my parents and Perry, I think I just annoy them. I know they care, don't get me wrong, but..

Does Smallville Guy ever annoy you?

Sometimes. With the secrets. It feels like there's this.. gulf between us. But then he sends me a picture of his dog or his baby cow Nellie Bly and we talk and it's all over.

This place is weird so if you ever meet him, don't tell him I said that. About the annoyance thing.

Would he annoy you like that if you didn't care about him so much?

[Eye roll. I get what he's doing.]

No, he wouldn't. Annoyance is a sign of love and affection, I get it. Still hard to stomach.

[Grins at her as she gets it.]

It is. And I get it. I had some pretty protective parents growing up.

Did your parents threaten to send you to military school every time you got in trouble?

No, there were just a lot of extra chores.

Lucky. Any time I step out of line my dad's loving annoyance turns to visions of military dress.

I think you might underestimate how unpleasant farm chores can be, but it's definitely not as bad as military school.
