It's a little strange, but I don't think that's the hardest thing to adjust to in Darrow. I've... kind of been set up for these comparisons for a lot of my life because of the Avatars that came before me. Many of the older adults I'm closest to actually knew my previous incarnation, Avatar Aang. So I think that's something I can deal with.

I'd rather not miss out on connections just because I don't know what the other me did, you know?

Do you miss the way we used to be?

Being nice to people doesn't have to be a signal of weakness. Sometimes it's a signal of strength, because it's not like anyone's forcing you to do things for other people. You're doing it because you're generous, you can afford the extra effort, and you're just a good person.

It can be really hard to be the bigger person.

And yeah, sometimes people do try to take advantage of kindness. One of my closest friends gets taken advantage of a lot. But that same kindness means he's got lots of loyal friends who look out after him, so things actually work out. But the advice I generally give is when you sense that you're being walked over, stand up for yourself. Push back and hold firm.

Dying and metamorphosis. I was barely conscious for it but I still know it hurt like the devil.

What's your biggest regret?

There's plenty I've realized I don't miss about it, but having to stop entirely? Merde. Like having to learn how to walk on my hands, instead of my feet. Only knowing that if I walk the usual way, I'll start running and make everyone I care about chase me.

There's so much I would change. I would never have trusted the men who only told me they could make us stronger. I would never have given in to revenge. I would have saved Pietro's life...I would have saved so many lives...

But at the same time, if some of those things hadn't happened, I wouldn't have my powers. I wouldn't be able to try and help people.
