The other points I was thinking of would either be just from the end of Culloden, still wounded, or from Ardsmuir prison so he could be MacDubh. I think they both have strengths. Jamie from Culloden didn't want to live still. He expected to die, wanted to die.
Jamie from Ardsmuir is another man entirely. He's quieter, has a purpose. He's become the leader that there is only a hint of at his time out of the cave.
