It's not really a compulsion! I make a joke out of it because SO MANY people in canon know he's Spider-Man, but most of those didn't come about from Miles just flat out telling them. xD

I guess Miles's problem is that he's a super honest kid. He told his girlfriend because he didn't want to buy a guy who lies, and he (SPOILERS) told his father in part because it was eating at him, having to lie about it. He's not gonna like, unmask in the street, but he has an issue with lying so much to his friends and family. xD

His problem is he's TOO honest a kid for secret identities.
