"No last name," he adds, but there's a defiant sort of pride in that, as if he feels deliberately happy to say so. If this whole 'forced marriage' goes through (and Porthos is beginning to think the Cardinal wants it for some illicit reason) then he supposes he might have one, but it wouldn't be of his choosing.
