Well, first off, clearly Marcus. Even though I haven't yet watched this week's episode, apparently there's some hardcore Catholicism at play, and it would amuse me. Plus the exorcism of Betty Cooper is on the horizon, soooo. Beth could also be really good! Or Hopper!!
Right now, the hard part is the plot I have going on with her! I'm not sorry that I chose it, but until I finish it, it's hard to put Olive other places, and frankly she's my favorite and easiest, so it's weird not to be trying to put her everywhere. Plus the fact that her friends keep disappearing and rebuilding social circles is hard. Also dealing with the fact that she is very much growing up, which isn't a problem for me, exactly, but I do sometimes worry that, in doing so, she loses elements of what makes her who she is in canon to other people. I want to give her room to become an adult without changing the core of the character!
He doesn't consciously want one because his experience with dads is kind of REALLY SHITTY, but I think it would be good for him. If someone were obviously trying to dad him, he'd be pretty resistant of that, but having an older male figure in his life to turn to who'd maybe be a counter to the influences he grew up with, who'd support his art even, that's something he'd eventually lean into. He's just absolutely desperate for love, and no amount of time away from home changes or eases that aspect of him, especially with Effy disappearing again.
